My father is very business savvy and was Business Manager for a MAJOR (25,000 students), university, and before that, running a major phone company, so he taught me well. The AVERAGE MT, and even those just starting out as MTs, really don't stop to think about IRA's or 401K's etc. What I was stating is that because of the cost of living in certain states being higher, a person's base benefit WOULD go up based on the cost of living in that geographic area, so I was using those figures as an example.
