Couple of interesting facts about SS - nn

I recently talked to someone from social security and toward the end of our conversation, she told me a couple of interesting things. One being that SS was NEVER designed for a person to use SS as the SOLE source of their income once they retired.

Secondly, depending on where you live, your SS benefits could be higher. For example, say someone who gets $800 a month in the Midwest could actually get $950 a month, living in a state with a higher cost of living, such as California.
