Nick, for the IC MT, would you agree that - anon

the most important "illegal" items to be on the watch for in a contract as far as the IRS is concerned is requiring a schedule and lines to be produced? Try telling the painter that he has to have the shutters painted first before he does the trim work and he should have it done by the end of the day. This all falls within the IRS litmus test of when, how, and in what order an IC must do their job, right? Yet, that is what businesses are doing today with ICs. They tell you to squat, and you say how low. I agree with you in that no MT should sign any contract if it is "illegal" and the IRS has made determinations on what can be or cannot be placed upon an IC. If a company goes beyond the IRS boundaries, I consider that "illegal." What say you?
