After just reviewing FIESA crap and having not received emails in days from TSM about reversals, I am to the point where i want out. I hate leaving a job without notice, but I am seriously sick of this place. I never intend on working here again, but not sure if I should give them notice. They make me feel like poo everytime I get my corrections back.

Do what you feel good doing. Two weeks notice is old school and I don't think it would matter to them if you just sent an e-mail saying you are quitting effective that day.

and gave 2 weeks notice. I did not want it on my record that I just up and quit with no notice. I did not know if any future employers would call Nuance and be put off because I did not give notice. It was actually a great 2 weeks because I didn't worry about FIESA or line counts.

I put in my notice last night. No matter how frustrated I am, I could not leave the team in a bind. I must admit it feels good to know that I am done worrying about FIESA. Thanks for all the advice!

A two-week notice is a courtesy. I am of the belief that it is a courtesy that is earned and if your TSM is that bad, then they don't get that courtesy. I actually walked away from my job at Nuance (it was Focus Infomatics then) about 3 years ago and it took my TSM 10 days to realize I hadn't clocked in.

You'll get no judgment from me if you walk. I know I felt LOADS better when I did and I didn't mind exploding this particular bridge into small pieces.

That's the only thing you have to think about is how badly do you want to burn this bridge. Is this a job you will need on your resume to prove experience? In my case, I hadn't been there very long and I had a part time job the whole time so I had continuity on my resume. If you have that kind of continuity or if you can explain the gap somehow, then I'd say go for it. If you need this company as a good reference for trying to find a new job, then I'd give notice and take a deep breath and deal with it.

Cannot believe your TSM didn't notice you were gone for 10 days. The way things are now, I feel like they know if I get up and go to the bathroom! Never had the micromanagement anywhere as at Nuance, even when I worked inhospital with the boss right beside me! That is a good one!!! Thanks for sharing, gave me a smile today!
