So tired of "all hands on deck" e-mails - and OT requests

Luckily I'm not a primary or secondary on these accounts, but I see my TSM send them out broadcast to everyone she must have on her e-mail list begging and pleading for help with this account or that account. It's always the same language, and every time I just chuckle.

Pay me a living wage and I might consider OT. And what does "all hands on deck" mean anyway? Because who signs onto their work computer and into email to check it when they're not scheduled to work? So those messages are only going out to those who are already working. What? Do you think they're painting their nails or chatting up their friends instead?

And never once do you see them say, "We've reached out to HR and asked them to provide us with new recruits to help staff these accounts." No! It's just move this old person here, and shift that other person there, and ask this person to change shifts!

please refresh your queue to capture any assigned work, etc. The queue resets itself every 7 minutes, there is no need to refresh it sooner than that, especially for work that will be assigned to you, that will come in no matter what anyhow.

My guess is on those accounts you are seeing the OT requests for it will not be long until they are as overstaffed as other accounts. The accounts that I was moved to when mine went to EPIC used to have OT all the time, not anymore.

Not to mention getting stuck with the leftovers of horrible dictators during normal shift, the thought of working longer and make nothing just doesn't get it.

Instead of figuring out an hourly rate, just pay actual time and a half. Pay me (if I make 8 cents/4 cents) 12 and 6 for OT. The way they do it now, OT isn't worth it. Unfortunately, my state says it's perfectly legal and fine to use the hourly rate figure. I wonder how Ford Motor Company employees would feel if they were asked to do overtime and made an extra 3 dollars a day because of it, never spent any time with their families and on top of that had no money to even buy clothes (Salvation Army, here I come).

Guess what they do when you say you will work OT? They put you on an account you've never done with the worst dictators you can imagine. Barf. I hate this field now. I used to love it. Thanks, Nuance, for ruining everything.

The FIESA enforcers, that's who. Not only do you end up ruining your line count, spend lots of time researching pages and pages of specs, there is someone at the end of the line with a fine tooth comb rubbing their hands together (in my imagination anyway), waiting to "get" you for any little error you might have made, so I have come to the conclusion that voluntary OT is really voluntary masochism.

I never volunteer for OT now, but only hop on when they say they need help and when there is plenty on my primary. No way am I a sucker for Nuance, well, in that PARTICULAR fashion, anyway, anymore.

My primary account has been so "low" for a while now, when we get to "regular" volumes (as in, what we used to see the volumes at a year ago and never had an issue going out of TAT), they freak out and approve overtime!

By the next day, the normal flow of work is gone and we're fighting for scraps. This is crazy, and I'm about to e-mail my COM and tell her just what I think of this system.

Still offering NOTHING extra to work overtime. OT pay since Nuance acquired Webmedx is a slap in the face. I used to make hundreds a pay working overtime. The way Nuance calculates it amounts to around 10 bucks an hour. The one particular account that they are begging everyone to work on is horrid to begin with. Why are we always expected to work extra and catch up on overdue work on the weekends that builds up because there's not enough coverage? You have to do the QCare thing when you get NJA. Then, they send you a ticket number. Great. What do you do with the stupid ticket number? Are you entered in a drawing? It really gets ridiculous. Some are important and MANY are not. Some are ridiculous. You have to read through them all in case there is something important there. Don't you just love how you get threatening e-mails wanting you to work more as clients are unhappy because their work is not getting back in a timely fashion. Where was this concern when we were running out of work on a daily basis and were expected to just sit and wait for work. I understand that the MTSOs sign contracts and promise tight TATs, but when an account has had the dreaded NJA at multiple times of the day, then why send out an e-mail stating that we need to keep the account within the 24-hour turnaround or the company will hire even more people for the account. Got a new kind of rudely worded in places contract from company I've been with a little bit. I have worked for Hands-On for a few years now and I think it is a well run company.
