Has anyone heard anything more about our COBRA situation?  Aren't we supposed to have heard something by now?

If they just quit providing healthcare and you are still employed by them, I'm not sure you're COBRA eligible.

They have 30 days to provide you with COBRA information, and you have 60 days to choose it.

you do take their coverage, you pay retrograde back to the day you lost your current coverage--it does not pick up the day you accept it. For my family several years ago, it was going to be $900+ a month - me and kids. I found another company (Humana) which was much more reasonable until my insurance at my new job kicked in.

However, as other posters have said, I am not sure LM employees qualify for COBRA just because the employer decides to stop providing any insurance to employees.

Others may have figured this out but if this helps someone with getting prescriptions great.  I was going through my 90 days probation, no insurance, but still had scripts with refills.  Finally I talked with Wal-Mart and the medication I had been going without was only $4 per month without insurance, so you might want to see if you can go that route. I am confused. I signed up for medical, dental, and vision insurance and the amounts are being deducted from my pay check.  Why have I received a letter about Cobra and have to reply no later than 03/2013 in order to continue vision and dental.  I am mixed up.  I guess I am dense. I expect to get flamed or slammed here, but I have a question. Is there anyone else on this board that works for the measily 7 cpl for straight typing and if so, how in heck do you survive? I am a pretty fast typist and I use a word expander, but I find it almost impossible to make any kind of a living from this now. Paycheck Friday will be almost 200 short.  Anyone's TSM giving them any input?  I doubt they are going to say --- QC now in the pool with you, but... We have lost no accounts, TSM says there have been no new hires in our group.  (like I believe everything I am told...) Does anyone know what the current cost of COBRA is for the highest level of insurance (the "better" one) that Nuance offers is for a single person?  (Well, single in that no other members are claimed.) I've been offered an IC job that pays very well, but I have to keep my insurance (as crappy as this policy is).  I know I can get healthcare through the marketplace thingy, but I'm wondering if I just needed to take COBRA for a bit, how much would it cost.
