Does anybody know how much the full Cobra premium would be if you didn't qualify for Obama's subsidy after leaving MQ?

Eight months ago it was very close to $500 for single. - sm

If you quit on the 1st your insurance is good until the last day of the month, so that helped me a little when I had a 90-day waiting period for my other job.

A lot. Remember, you are no longer in the group rate. Only benefit is is that they have to keep you for 18 months--I believe it's still 18 months, may want to check that. If you have no pre-existing conditions, you may want to shop elsewhere. If you have a pre-existing condition that would disqualify you from other insurance, you're sort of stuck with it if you want insurance.

It depends on who your group carrier is as to what the rate is, as they continue to be your insurer, and they do vary a lot. It is expensive, but it is good for 18 mos. You will get a "certificate of creditable insurance" from your employer (and make sure you ask about it before leaving), which stops you from falling into the pre-existing condition "pothole" when you get insurance from your next employer. Just went through all this. Hope this helps.

I am confused. I signed up for medical, dental, and vision insurance and the amounts are being deducted from my pay check.
