I work on a platform that pays only 8/4 and it's acute care. I also work night shift. I'll now get acute care pay and shift differential so I'm happy with the changes. Not everyone is unhappy here!
That's the great thing - about low standards.

[ In Reply To ..]I have been in the industry 25 years. When I joined Nuance I looked at other companies and the ones that paid more per line had significantly worse benefits. One has to consider the entire package deal when looking at employment. Yes I've had higher pay in the past at hospitals but they've all pretty much outsourced now - that's what happened to me (as many others) and the company they went with offered crap for benefits and pay. Sadly gone are the days of gross lines, decent pay, raises and bonuses in this industry. They can pay people in India the same line rate and not give benefits and that's what we're competing against. Bummer I know.

I do not accept what MT has come to, and have been looking for a job since Nuance took over.

If I work a few hours early morning, (which I always have) do I get shift differential for those few hours until 6:00 a.m., or do I have to work the entire shift to get the differential? Thanks. Just fortunate my husband has a good job or I would be in the boat with the majority of the rest of you.

The whole package is changing as well - so happiness will be short lived.
[ In Reply To ..]So, the standard of accuracy goes up and the audits are getting more and more picky on just the slightest thing, which of course runs your accuracy score down and thus, not only no incentive pay, but also after a while you get flagged and in trouble for not meeting the ridiculous standard that no other company has because it is impossible to meet a standard that marks you off for every stupid thing. Not all accounts get shift differential, but if you run out of work you spend all day and half the night just trying to make a decent pay check with nothing extra. All the time we have to spend trying to fill in stuff that is not part of the production plus time spent reading emails and other "company stuff" is not compensated-that's on your own time. Yes, we do have some benefits, but in comparison to India, they may not get paid much by our standard, but by their standard not only are they making decent wages, they DO get good benefits, including extra time off just for family/social activity (this is in their ad). Greed is all that drives most of the business world and Nuance is at the top of the list. I hold on only because I have bills to pay and need time to train for something else, but this industry is slowly either going down the tubes or over to India-either way the US MT needs to find something else to do if you want to survive.

Could it be that the "13% increase" equals the amount of the quarterly bonus you were receiving? That's what mine equals out to be. I'm in that 35% and I am not getting a raise when I figure in the weekly and quarterly bonuses I previously received. Dear MModal, These cumbersome features are going to slow us down. There's no way around it. Age and gender checks for example. I am tier III and I still am not at top pay. Today I asked my CCM for a raise and she said she will put in the paperwork. Why do I feel I still will be denied even though I have met all the requirements. More than likely I will be denied because they do not want any MT to make above minimum wage. I am an independent contractor with 30 plus years experience, and have worked for the same hospital for 11 years, still at the same rate as when I started. At the time it was a good rate, now not so much--outside typing service does the overflow easy stuff , we IC's are left with the ESL's, static and more difficult reports.
