If you live in Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Ohio, Oregon, Vermont and Washington, minimum wage is going up so you will get a raise!!!

[ In Reply To ..]wage if you work anything even approaching full time. Even a lousy transcriptionist working for a sucky company should be making 3 times that. If your skills are lacking, work on them. If your discipline is lacking, go find a job that comes with a supervisor leaning over your shoulder. Aim for $35K for the new year as a START or resolve to leave the field--and do it.

[ In Reply To ..]I've tested myself several times, gave myself one hour, worked as fast as I could carefully go without compromising quality (much) and max I could do is 250 lph on ASR. With my "high" pay scale, I make $16 an hour. That's barely twice minimum wage in this state. Can I keep up that rate for a full 8 hours a day? No, at least not without letting attention to detail slide. I'm a tier 3, 20+ years' experience. Even if I were able to straight type as fast as I could go for 8 hours straight, I've clocked myself at $20 an hour, but who can really keep up that pace? The reason I ask is that I've noticed MQ has made some recent changes, such as merging ASR with their 6.1 system. This ridiculously handicaps my speed in op reports. I'd like to just f11 it, but apparently, their priority is for us to "Teach" the ASR system which in the end will put us out of a job and any income whatsoever.
But then why are you still there? Isn't it time - to move to another company?

[ In Reply To ..]I already tried 2 other MTSOs. It takes time to really see how much you can make at those companies. They tell you so many cents per line but every platform is different. While trying out those companies, I had to work 2 full-time jobs (they wouldn't hire part-time) which hurt my line count at the Q (I was just plain tired) and neither of them turned out any better. They had much less stress/changes but I couldn't put in the time it took to reach my line rate, and frankly, I can't afford to take a pay cut for even a couple of months to see how they would turn out. I'm the sole bread-winner in this family. You see, we all have our reasons for being here. If I took your advice to just keep jumping ship, I'd drown.

Could it be that the "13% increase" equals the amount of the quarterly bonus you were receiving? That's what mine equals out to be. I'm in that 35% and I am not getting a raise when I figure in the weekly and quarterly bonuses I previously received. I am tier III and I still am not at top pay. Today I asked my CCM for a raise and she said she will put in the paperwork. Why do I feel I still will be denied even though I have met all the requirements. More than likely I will be denied because they do not want any MT to make above minimum wage. At the time it was a good rate, now not so much--outside typing service does the overflow easy stuff , we IC's are left with the ESL's, static and more difficult reports.
