Qualifications to be a Nuance manager? - Be a natural liar or BS artist

I have just read a few emails that are so filled with deception by management I wonder if managers are ever embarrassed to spread this BS. Seriously some of the stuff they write would be funny if I had a sense of humor about Nuance - but I do not. I resent that I do the work while they get paid to give pep talks, make excuses and deceive.

They must think MTs are dumb as rocks to believe the stuff they spew. Then again maybe managers are the people who are dumb as rocks.

Can anyone else think of qualifications necessary to be a Nuance manager?

Yes, you must be a pathological liar or at the very least be able to lie with ease and not feel guilty. Why do they do it you ask? They need a paycheck. No, I am not one of them, but this is not particular only to Nuance..it is all the companies, any I have ever worked for. Is it right? Not from where we sit in our chairs, but if they do not, they do not get a paycheck or will be let go.

The real villains? The stockholders and CEO and higher management who have never sat in these chairs who make up the rules and hand them down for the managers to give to us. Those are the real criminals...and I am sure they rest easy in their 5 million dollar homes at night. Horrid industry. I group them with loan sharks.

I know the part about rules handed down from the top but I don't get the part about the BS and pep talks, as if we would not follow rules or work without the deception. It is a constant insult to intelligence by managers.

It's kind of like the emperor has no clothes story-line. Of course the emperor is not naked and of course everything a manager says is true. And MTs need to go along to get along.

Call the managers out on the lies and excuses and they have means to make you regret it. So you continue to suck down the toxic Kool-Aid till you start to believe their story. After all they are MANAGERS and who are you? A lowly MT in their eyes and they let you know how dispensable you are daily.

Yep, I had one of those nasty team leaders and guess what -- I went away, did not quit and now guess who is collecting unemployment for 52 weeks !! Who had the last laugh?!!

Some of my managers seem be excellent, cheery, ra-ra cheerleaders. I have read posts here that would indicate that not all the managers are that way but I sure did have a string of 'em.

Cheery rah rah is part of the BS while N overstaffs - and underpays

OK ... when you're in Fluency Manager, "status" ... where you see the list of facilities and number of reports. When I click on the names of a few accounts that I'm assigned to, it takes me to a page that has a sort of "box" that has listed company, contact, type of company, etc. One of those fields is called "Account Manager". I was working 2 jobs and not able to keep up with both jobs, so ended up getting fired, and mgr said I would be blocked from reemployment via my SSN. We were just sent a list of how our team did on audits for February so far, listed by ID#. Out of around 50 workers, three of them had 7-8 reports audited (including me, which I passed at 99.8), two with 5 and two with 4. The rest had 3 and below reports audited. According to a poster below which has apparently already attended one of the payroll meetings (as the poster posted) for nuance they have decided to keep the incentive part of all of our pay going with an exception that now you have to have over the industry standard of 98% to get a production based incentive. In addition (if this poster is accurate) they have again cut the overall pay from 8 and 4 to 3 3/4 AND 7 1/2. This is nothing but a bunch of crapploa...an MT who is now getting ...
