FIESA what's the big deal ? - Anon

Posted: Jun 04, 2014

Seriously, FIESA takes 3 minutes at most to log in, put your initials in the feedback box and log out. I don't understand why everyone makes themselves such a victim here ? You don't have to like FIESA or even agree with it, but to not check it is dumb, in my humble opinion.

FIESA - Are you kidding?

[ In Reply To ..]
Sounds like management to me.

I thought the same thing. Nuance management - with dead time putting out fires.

[ In Reply To ..]
What a bunch of lying weasels management is.

If you want to waste your time - go for it.

[ In Reply To ..]
In case you're wondering WHY it's a waste of time? It's because half of the time QA isn't on the same page. I get marked down if I don't do this, then some other QA marks me down when I do do it. Business-wise, that's not a productive option. I'm not learning anything from it, other than learning how inconsistent and confused QA is. So no, I am not going to use my unpaid time to check FIESA and have the blaring incompetence of QA in front of me every day. I'm smart enough to know what is beneficial and what is just bad business, TYVM.

Fiesa is a mean joke meant to undermine - and rob MTs

[ In Reply To ..]
It is not the time I concern myself with. It is the demoralizing effect that is behind Fiesa. I want to see my supervisors scores on Fiesa. I want to see the QA and auditors scores. I bet they are not humiliated like MTs with a scoring system that threatens their jobs and their income.

Number one, if you make a critical error, you already--sm - anon

get an email, so you are ware of that. Number 2, FIESA is representative of the way QA has devolved. Many things are labeled critical errors that would have no impact on patient care and show a complete lack of common sense. It is demeaning. Further, 3 minutes a day equals 15 minutes a week, or half an hour each pay period or 23 hours over the course of the year. There are other things I can do with that 23 hours.

Dont forget to add the 3 minutes to the multiple times--sm - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
that one has to re-load the email (taking away from transcribing) which you is how you earn money to pay the bills or whatever and if FIESA gave you information that helped you to do your job better, the 3 minutes off the clock might even be worth it but 9/10 times it is a minor error or subjective preference of the QA person.

Is there a reason you posted this - on the Company board?

[ In Reply To ..]
Rather than Nuance board? Probably the 9 dislikes you have on this one would be 50 by now on the Nuance board?

You say "not to check it is dumb" and have not explained yourself. I happen to think that TO check it is dumb. There is no benefit at all.

If Nuance would ever offer any incentive in any way, shape or form for anything, I don't know, a dollar extra a day for checking FIESA, I would do it, but they are the tightfisted-est company I ever worked for, so I respond in kind.

FIESA does not teach me a thing, except that they caught me in an error. Big deal. Why do I have to sign off on that? You got the money off me already by catching my mistake.

Until someone can explain why FIESA is beneficial for me to check on my own time or make it beneficial ($1 a day, Nuance, that's all it would take, but I guess pigs would fly before they give 1 cent), I will exercise passive resistance on this one and see what happens.

BTW, NOT checking FIESA has done wonders for my state of mind!

Fiesa does not help - 55

[ In Reply To ..]
Fiesa does not help prevent future mistakes as it was sold to us...told to check it before, during and after our shifts so we don't make the same mistakes over again...that would only work if it showing us some sort of account spec errors...

But showing us mistakes over and over and over, some of which are subjective, missing an article like a or the, does not in any way make us better MTs!
Showing us a missing pronoun and deducting points for it does not make us better MTs!

If it worked as it was sold to us, we would all have perfect scores all the time...which is impossible.

I dread opening my email in the morning...I dread seeing any emails....I dread starting work every day knowing that I will only make a small amount of money--I used to love my job...made good money and was happy---now I despise it.

At Nuance, I especially despise Fiesa.

Not when you have to contest all the bad audits - Depressed

[ In Reply To ..]
with the blanks filled in wrong by other auditors. Takes a lot of time to double check all the mistakes made by QA on Fiesa.

Too many hands in the pot - hb

[ In Reply To ..]
If we all had the same QA person reviewing our work over and over again, it may actually be of some benefit. The way it is now, one person thinks something is okay and another one doesn't, which means inconsistent corrections and we never know what is or is not acceptable. If it made sense and was beneficial, I would do it. The way it is now, you can't win so why bother?

The Big Deal - anon

[ In Reply To ..]
I'll tell you what the big deal is, I am not initialing something I didn't do to start with. Then you have to copy the error, copy the specs because TL does not know the specs, and send email to try and get it reversed. ANYONE QAing me should be right, period. That's the big deal and it takes more than 3 minutes by the way.

DUMB IS YOUR HUMBLE OPINION!! You must be one of those cheerleaders I want to _____. Rah, Rah, Rah, let me take your money away when you weren't wrong to start with. ENOUGH.

What Is The Deal With VR?
Jun 27, 2012

Okay, guess I will show how dumb I am.  I am an MT in a in-house office for a urologist. he dictates, I listen and transcribe. i get on here and read everyone fussing about VR. I get that VR is voice recognition...but what is your job? If you are an MT, you have VR, I realize it gets it wrong sometimes but what do you do? Read it to make sure VR gets it right and then make the changes?  Just wondering.  Any reply appreciated. Thanks! ...

Has Anybody Else Had To Deal With This?
Aug 06, 2013

A little over a month ago my old PC finally crashed after 10 good years.  I replaced it and had to put antivirus on it (of course).  I ended up taking my son to the ER and can't afford insurance, so I ended up paying out of pocket for his antibiotics.  (Sad that the antibiotics cost less than a month of insurance for the two of us.)  My antivirus expires the day before I get my check.  Are there any safe alternatives for one day until I get paid?  ...

So What's The Deal With
Oct 27, 2013

A couple of days ago I took my mom to the ER because of sudden back pain.  We live in a town of ~20,000 and have a 100-bed hospital with a fully staffed ER.  We were the ONLY ones in the waiting room.  It took 1-1/2 hours to be seen by a triage nurse, 1 hour to be escorted to an ER room, 1 hour to be seen by a nurse (never seen by an MD), and 2 hours for a different nurse to wander distractedly into the room with discharge/followup instructions.  There were at least 20 employ ...

Oct 24, 2009

Urinalysis has been obtained today suggesting 50 to 100 WBCs, RBCs, many bacteria, with a WBC of 6.9, hemoglobin 14.3, positive nitrites and moderate leukoesterase in his urine. First, I cannot find leukoesterase in any dictionary and believe he must mean leukocyte esterase.  Can I change it?  Should I flag it if I do or is it one of those things that is obvious enough that it doesn't need to be flagged.  Second, should I punctuate it differently?  I mean the WBC and he ...

How To Deal With A Hateful TL

What IS The Deal With The Teamwork Graphic
Sep 29, 2013

Maybe this is just my OCD tendencies speaking, but it really irritates me how the blue bar and the green bar do not line up. For example, if I am scheduled to work until 11, then I clock out at 10:30 for a break, the green bar for "Actuals" is already showing way past the end of the blue bar for "Plan." To whoever wrote the code behind the web page, how hard could it possibly have been to program the graphics so that they line up? It's really no big deal in actuality, but for some ...
