Increasingly frustrated.  Mandatory OT and we have to jump to it, but try to get an e mail answered is like asking for a million dollars.  Seriously.  Why is my time less valuable than the management?  This is starting to sound like N and MM all over again and I am so very disappointed!  AAAAAKKKK.

all the time too even though they don't have the staff for what they have now without MOT. Just expect to MOT for the rest of your life. Don't ask questions. Just be there when and if they want you. Why don't they stop taking on new clients until they can get their TAT stable? Not getting the work done on time and harassing the employees is not going to help anybody.

I have been an MT for 20 plus years and have never worked for a company where they had a time clock. When I first hired on with my present company, my supervisor, who is also a friend, said I can work as many hours as I want but to only report my scheduled hours and that both she and other company echelon will just look the other direction (which practice I know is illegal, both on my part and their part). She was told the same thing when she still worked as an MT. That is what I have been doing for over a year and a half now. No questions have ever been asked of me. Soon, however, my company (purchased by another company almost a year ago) will be instituting a time clock. We are required to type 1500 lines in 8 hours. The problem for me is that I have never been able to accomplish 1500 lines in 8 hours because I am more quality oriented. I asked my supervisor about the upcoming time clock, and her answer was "just continue to clock your scheduled hours and work off the clock for the other production, that nobody will really pay attention...it is just a different way of keeping track of your time." Has anybody ever worked off an actual time clock where you punch in and out, and if so, how does that work for you?

Am I missing something? You can't work for Synernet, we haven't been bought out and have always had a time clock. I just can't see how your question fits in with this Synernet topic.

Run fast and run far. Do not apply for a job with this company. The management is the worst there is. They keep getting new accounts and pile the work on without having the resources to handle the work. We are human beings, not slaves. How about a raise this year? Oh yeah, Synernet didn't make any money. Bull! Many MTs are seeking other jobs. Wise up people. We will all quit soon.

It's just getting worse every day in this realm of things. I can imagine how the HIM side of things are, but the Rad MTs (I will say this is my opinion because I do not want to speak for others) are being "lead" by someone who, let's just say, hasn't a clue. It's like a nightmare every day being made to feel completely inadequate. I cringe every time I hear the ding of email coming in. I know what you mean when you say others are looking. It is true because I am on that list. I am sad because I use to like my job, but I cannot say this anymore. Incompetence does not even come close to the way things are run in this department. I would love to speak up, and I know others would also, but if I/we do, it will make our work life worse than it is now, so I continue to keep to myself in my personal hell hole and try not to walk away every day. If you are reading this and work here, I do hope your experience has been better than mine. I really needed to just get this off my chest. I know others share this feeling; I know I am not alone. It is too bad that they will not get this mess fixed and run by someone who can make a positive difference and help us to like our jobs again. I am depressed about the negativity all the time. Cutesie little icons do not make things better either!!! Enough is enough!!!!

I agree 100%. I am beyond tired of sending emails that do not get answered. I am also tired of being bounced from account to account every single day!! I have bills to pay and kids to feed. Also this certain person needs to do a spellcheck!!!! This not only makes the company look bad, but it also shows the kind of person they have with obviously no experience. When is "upper management" going to wake up and see what is happening? Hopefully not before they lose everyone. Give your MTs the respect they deserve and at least answer emails

Not only do I agree with these comments, I have experienced the same. You are not alone! I feel like there is no fairness here. If we didn't have to bouce from account to account, we could actually get more work done for the company, make more money for us and them and MAYBE get this OT decreased. Begging for help for every weekend is getting old real fast too! I don't even want to volunteer my time anymore. I put my precious time aside to come in and help out only to find there is no work to do. I really do have a life and I am not wasting my time anymore with this. If you need help, call and if I am around, I will be happy to help out, but I can't "make plans" for helping and put my personal stuff aside. Maybe instead of them trying to figure this stuff out and the same 'ol, same 'ol NOT working, give us a voice so we can make some suggestions. Of course, it would have to be anonymous, because as the poster above said, you certainly do not want to shine any light on yourself. That's job suicide!!! Someone with experience needs to take over this Rad department and fix the things that are now very broken....

I think it is ridiculous how we just "take it" just because we are afraid to have a voice in our place of employment. No company should EVER retaliate against an employee for not being able to speak of their feelings or ideas to help improve the company. There are so many things wrong on how they do things I could write a book. Why anyone would still apply after reading all of these posts is beyond me. A few years ago, I came to Synernet because I had been laid off and heard nothing but good things about this company. I wish I would have gone with my gut instinct and just gone back to school and used my unemployment for a while until I did so. Now, I feel like I am stuck. I hate this feeling. I am tempted to write out a long letter and tell them myself how most of us are feeling and if they want to retaliate then I will keep every email and present my case to an attorney. This is getting old and none of us deserve to have to live our lives around this company and them draining our energy just for them. My family is tired of all the OT, and the pay is horrendous for what we have to endure.

If things don't seem to get better in a few weeks I am going to write that letter and in the meantime, I am looking for something else. Can't take it anymore!

Ever notice how some people never move from the same accounts daily while others are all over the place? It is not right or fair. I know a few MTs were taken off accounts for unexplained reasons so they just type on 1 or 2 easy accounts but everyone is paid the same. So many things wrong with this place it will never get fixed unfortunately. I just have to get another job.

I know from what I hear about Synernet, and after interviewing with them a time or two, it sounds like a big snob operation like many of these MT companies are anymore. We have no voice, no rights, supposed to be lucky to just have a job, even privileged, for the lower pay anymore. I'm just sick of all the MT companies.

Maybe it's just me but after having this mandatory OT for so very long I am not nearly as productive anymore than I was even at 40 hours. My concentration and attention are shot. I feel like I haven't had a day off (my one day off I have a million things to do) in a century. This 6 hours of OT really is dragging me down big time...

Isn't this much mandatory OT illegal? Why do we have wage and hour laws if sm - we are forced to work more nm

I did contact the Dept. of Labor. Employment is at will. They actually have the right to make us work as many hours in a day as they wish. Believe that or not. I got it right from DOL's mouth. I was extremely surprised. They said I also have the right to quit if I don't like it (DOL).

worked for was requiring mandatory overtime was that they can't make you do it unless EVERYBODY is required to do it. That means every employee. Of course we don't know each other so don't know if everybody is doing their share; but if they're not, then nobody has to do it. That's the law (this was quite a few years ago and could have changed). We actually had someone call to make sure. I personally don't think everybody is or we would have caught up long time ago, but I can't prove it. Part of working at home. You don't know what other people are doing.

I believe they are perfectly within their rights to do this. I'm feeling very unhealthy. These HIM work pools are horrible. Wish we could go back to the days of only a few accounts and knocking the work out like it use to be. Hardly OT then. They created this disaster and we have to pay for it. No bonus, no raise. If you don't the job, somebody else will. Move along and don't let the door hit you on the way out.

A little over a month ago my old PC finally crashed after 10 good years.  I replaced it and had to put antivirus on it (of course).  I ended up taking my son to the ER and can't afford insurance, so I ended up paying out of pocket for his antibiotics.  (Sad that the antibiotics cost less than a month of insurance for the two of us.)  My antivirus expires the day before I get my check.  Are there any safe alternatives for one day until I get paid?  ...

A couple of days ago I took my mom to the ER because of sudden back pain.  We live in a town of ~20,000 and have a 100-bed hospital with a fully staffed ER.  We were the ONLY ones in the waiting room.  It took 1-1/2 hours to be seen by a triage nurse, 1 hour to be escorted to an ER room, 1 hour to be seen by a nurse (never seen by an MD), and 2 hours for a different nurse to wander distractedly into the room with discharge/followup instructions.  There were at least 20 employ ...

Urinalysis has been obtained today suggesting 50 to 100 WBCs, RBCs, many bacteria, with a WBC of 6.9, hemoglobin 14.3, positive nitrites and moderate leukoesterase in his urine. First, I cannot find leukoesterase in any dictionary and believe he must mean leukocyte esterase.  Can I change it?  Should I flag it if I do or is it one of those things that is obvious enough that it doesn't need to be flagged.  Second, should I punctuate it differently?  I mean the WBC and he ...

Anybody else get annoyed at docs who put every job they dictate in as a priority?  I mean, everything they dictate, from a 2-month-old death summary to a 3-week-old T&A.   I really hate the ones that are so old that the billing numbers have been erased from system.  I'm guessing they were threatened with their license being pulled to get their work caught up.  That's more important than H&Ps that need to be transferred with a dying patient right??  ...
