Upper management - buffy

Posted: Mar 28, 2013

Nuance has just had a MAJOR announcement!  They are making changes to upper management AGAIN.  It is no wonder we get paid crap.  Look at their structure and they have WAY too many people in this establishment and all making way more than we do and we are the ones that do the work.  Heck, they probably do not even know how to do transcription I bet.  Greed, greed, greed.  And I could care less about it.  Give me the pay I am worth.  They want better quality, then they need to pay us what we should be making.  They sound like old crags anyhow...

I look and see all of the jobs that are posted on Nuance and MM. If they would pay better we would stay! They must love the turn-around of MTs and I think a lot of the MTs have up and quit because it is getting really bad as far as the help they need. When are they going to realize you can work at McDonalds and make better money than sitting at home with your college degree working for less than minumum wage? They are idiots. Yep, it's my day to vent!

Agreed - good worker

[ In Reply To ..]
Maybe if enough of us vent to our supervisors the word might get out and we might start getting paid better. I just had a heart to heart with my supervisor and told her I could work at Home Depot for more money and I bothered to go to school and I have special skills that are required for this job. They can't fire you for venting. I even asked that they give back the 0.025 cpl they just took away a few months ago. We'll see what happens.

They don't care about MTs. Why should they? - They are pulling in the SM

[ In Reply To ..]
bucks big time. It's like any corporation. With the economy the way it is now, it is much easier to get away with this. So many people will work with horrid conditions because there are no good alternatives. It's just the way our country is now. I just accept that it is not going to change and work as much as I can to survive (barely).

Well I hope you get it. It's not like it is going to break them. Why would they even take that from you. Greedy b______ds.
One silver lining: When they finally run the company - into the ground, suits will be outta work, too! n

Nuance and other MTSOs are top heavy because eventually - there will be no need for US MTs

[ In Reply To ..]
The Indian workforce is fast becoming profecient enough to offshore all accounts and therefore the only need in US will be customer service reps who will be paid upwards of 60,000. It will never change, MTSOs see US MTs as a workforce to do away with as quickly as possible.

The Indian workforce is only "proficient" because - 2 sides to every story

[ In Reply To ..]
the US QA workforce corrects their work.

I've read quite a few articles recently regarding - the Indian work force and

[ In Reply To ..]
it seems that THEY are unhappy with what they are making now too. According to the articles, when they first started doing transcription, they could at least afford their own homes. Now, they are scrambling for places to live because either their rates have been cut or they are not getting the work. Sound familiar? Google Awful Future Prospects for Medical Transcriptionists in India. Upper management is pocketing ALL the money and could care less about the future of transcription. Just sayin...

I generally have a good attitude about everything. This company has changed all that. Before some smartass says look for another job, I have been for about 2 years. Anyway, between QA/QC, cuts in pay, and a million other little things, my attitude toward this company is that I hope they fail. Unfortunately, they will not. They have many other irons in the fire.

Just like every other big corporation, all the "suits" make all the money. Nothing new really. I just can't wait to get out of MT altogether.

There are way too many bosses and not enough people doing the actual work. I hate what MT has become. I used to be proud of my job, now I dread it. I do believe that people get what they deserve and this company is ripping its people off. I hope I'm still alive to see them get their "reward" for that.

Me too - good worker

I hope they get everything that they deserve and feel the pain they have caused the people that they have hurt financially who are already struggling to make ends meet.

Upper Management - me

Of course upper management is changing, after the buyout there was a combination of 3 companies just on my end and things had to change. I have a combined 6 years with 3 companies now owned by Nuance, and in the short time that they have been here, they have noticed the hard workers (just got bumped up myself) and listed openings for even more opportunities. Upper management is aware of everything going on and yes they do care about MTs as well as quality. On my side MTs now have people on any shift they can go to with a question, help, etc. and I've never seen this before. I am a part of lower management and I type when needed, so do my managers. If it needs done, everybody jumps in there to do it, titles mean nothing, we are all transcriptionists first and foremost.

Letter To Upper Management At Imedx

I don't understand why you continue to "wing it" with a company the size of Imedx.  Regarding the recent unveiling of the time clock system in Exponent HR, you jumped the gun without thinking through much of anything.  Why not wait until your ducks are in a row before implementing a new system.  The training meetings were great, but there were/are so many unaswered very basic, practical questions that are unanswered.  It is like you guys set a date for something to go li ...

Question For The Upper Echelons
Jun 30, 2010

I know we've got some management that read the board and occasionally respond, and I just wondered if one could answer a question for me.  Having been in the healthcare field for about 40 years, I understand that it is a 365/24/7 industry.  But I am having a hard time wrapping my head around the idea of everyone working either Sunday-Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday.      Why can you not have rotating weekends?  Then an MT could have entire weekends ...

Right Shoulder/Upper Arm Ache
Jun 24, 2014

I've heard about getting carpal tunnel syndrome if you type a lot, but I've not experienced anything at all like that, at least no so far. (I'm starting to talk like a physician.) Anybody else experience this before? I should get back into yoga. ...

Not Management
Mar 08, 2010

I am not management!  You just don't get it.  I hate to say it, but many of you are too miserable here to see the good... for whatever reasons.   I am an MT.  I'm tempted to put my real name and MQ e-mail, but what for.  I've said what I did because I am doing okay, because I have been through frightening changes before with MQ and it has always worked out.  It seems foolish to tell you my real name though, as you mostly are a bunch of whining loser ...

Is It Some New Management Technique Not To Say Thank You To
Sep 22, 2010

I'm a high producer and self starter. I don't need hand-holding.  But, geesh, it's just human nature to want to hear a sincere, individual compliment for a job well done sometimes, if for no other reason than it motivates me to do a better job and make the company more money.  At some point, it seems most management has started to treat the worker bees as enemies instead of part of the team.  It's short-sighted and lazy, and I know it has to be costin ...

Performance Management

Dear Management
Jun 09, 2011

Dear Management,  I have enjoyed working for you for the past several years ... best place I have worked in during my 20+ years as an MT.  HOWEVER, why do you find it ethical to find ways to sneak in the back door and take money out of my pocket, thinking I will not notice.   Yes, I understand, you need your own line counting system because the one I type in for the client gives me partial credit for headers and footers, and of course I shouldn't get credit for those after ...

Incompetent Management
Jul 05, 2011

After years of going through this, finally I have no other conclusion to draw but that it's pervasive.  I am talking about incompetent management. They talk about "the team" this, "the team" that.  But they have NO concept of what teamwork is, so that is just lip service. If I make a very simple request for something that will make the work flow more efficient and help everyone, I am either blown off completely or told "we will TRY to do that, but we're ...
