MERIDIAN MTs - drs

Just curious about what's happening with the other MTs from Meridian and if any are still with MModal. I left end of June - Best decision I ever made. Currently working for a local MD M-F, salary. My whole outlook on life changed once I made the change in employment. There is hope out there.

Just hoping to make it until I can retire next year. Money sucks, attitudes suck, changes suck. LOL No real choice as no one wants to hire old folks.

I waited and waited for positive changes and it only got worse. I am on 3 different accounts with no work. Why would a company do this? My work has been cut, my pay has been cut, my PTO has been cut, and I am just miserable. Where our accounts originate from can get really nasty in the winter and some facilities close. What then? All of the original MTs on my account are gone.

Thinking about getting out of MT altogether, but I am too young to retire and too old to get another decent job!

Remember when? We used to have good pay and unlimited work for the most part day in and day out. I actually enjoyed working. How can a company expect to keep good MTs under all these conditions. Production is squat, and they expect good quality under this kind of management! Seems like TAT is the only thing that matters to them. Well as many people as they put on 1 account, they certainly have that.

Just don't want to jump from the frying pan into the fire, so not many good options, but I am still looking every day.

I left at the beginning of July to take a job as an IC. More pay and tons of flexibility. I make more now spending less time at my computer. I couldn't be happier. It's a shame how MModal treats its employees. No, it's a crime. Keep looking, the jobs are out there even though they are few and far between.

The last 2 companies of my employment were buyouts to mmodal, last one being Meridian.

It is not the "elite" and mysterious group of MTs who Never posted on the boards. The company just paid more, which in itself is irrelevant because if you needed their insurance took half of your paycheck a month.

Volume seemingly dried up and still on original platform. Didn't want to wait until we got dumped into the ocean pool of work in Fluency. Things likely to change in a big way at that time.

Wonder how many ex-Meridianites got the layoff? sitting here NJA again...on 3 accounts. I am so frustrated. Went into this with an open mind but the only side that keeps getting more evidence is the side that says get the heck out of Dodge (if I don't get kicked out by a layoff first). actively looking for another job. Meridian was probably one of the last MT companies in the industry with integrity. They had very flexible schedules, above average pay, always plenty of work, wonderful QA, very reasonable expectations, and respect for their employees. I had hoped to retire there. Is this common practice? I've worked for them for 7 years and now they are cutting our pay? Is anyone else having trouble getting work at Meridian? Looking through the archives, it seems some have plenty and others very little, though the couple with plenty was a few months ago. It seems the accounts have been on extended holiday since xmas, then New Year's, then Easter, then July 4th, it's never-ending.
