How many MTs at Meridian HCS are doing better on VR than previously? - That is, if you have work. Just curious. NM

Frankly, I am quite surprised and disappointed here. The physician database is a guessing game, duplicates, misspelling, incorrect punctuation, and requests to correct it go ignored. We were initially told we would not have to "correct" the headings, but then told we needed to, which we are not paid for. We are also no longer paid for cc's, so if I am having trouble in the database, it goes immediately to QA. NEVER any improvements from the company. The constant reformatting is another time-sucker that we do not get paid for. I suppose they figured if everyone else was doing the wage theft, they might as well get in on it too.

It appears to me that whoever approved and bought this system has never typed a transcription report in their life!!! We see dictators daily who have no business being VR. Requests to the supervisors for improvements falls on deaf ears, with no responses, yet every MT in the company continues to get rude and nasty e mails on a whim over things not everyone is privy to.

As for using PTO when there is no work, GET real. PTO is a benefit, and should not be considered a wage at the company's discretion!! Flexing !!??!! That is the beginning of the end of an MT, or many MTs, jobs.

about this place, and they just hired a whole bunch of people, me being one of them. I don't think I'm even ever gonna get off qa for draft. For God sake let me go. I will do just fine without being under the pressure QA eyes. I don't even send any emails asking anything. I'll find out whatever sooner or later.

I'll stay way under their radar at all times.

Every MTs knows how you "get in a groove," with a good "flow" on turning out reports. ChartNet typing or VR has made that impossible now. It is screen after screen, and then a delay in even typing or editing. Signing off on a report is utterly ridiculous. I used to be a high producer. Now, I am bored out of my friggin mind. You totally lose interest halfway through your shift because of the slow speed. You can get more lines on VR but it is not worth it because the pay is less. I used to be a higher producer. Now, I only do the minimum, and am looking for another part-time job doing typing to make up the difference in lost income.

You might want to change your name to fogotten because when I was training, they got me confused with another person, same name. I told my kids I was literally sitting there for 4 hours waiting for feedback on 3 reports and I got the reply "I'm so busy I got you confused with someone else. One of my kids (so funny) said "well hell mom, that's why people have last names."

So glad to find out I'm not the only one... I feel vindicated! - nm

Wonder how many ex-Meridianites got the layoff? sitting here NJA again...on 3 accounts. I am so frustrated. Meridian was probably one of the last MT companies in the industry with integrity. They had very flexible schedules, above average pay, always plenty of work, wonderful QA, very reasonable expectations, and respect for their employees. I had hoped to retire there. Is this common practice? I've worked for them for 7 years and now they are cutting our pay?
