apparently they are trying to weed out MT's as they did CCM's. The ones who don't produce or excessive absences, etc.

How can you get a decent line count when you have more than 5 accounts and must constantly look at client profile so as to not make mistakes? I keep getting told there are those that are doing over 300 lines of VR an hour. How?

Whenever I get my VR productivity report, in addition to showing me my average, it states the company-wide average which seems to hover around 200-210. Still minimum wage though.

If those reasons exist, the MT should be personally informed.
I check DQM everyday, and there just plain isn't any work in my BOB.

If they want to can you,all they have to do is not put work in your BOB. Why do some Mt's have work and others not. Makes sense to me
CCM this morning said work volumes are low - all over. Who can you trust.

but I doubt that it's true. Back when I did civilian accounts I was a model employee from a management standpoint and they left me high and dry quite often. Now I'm on the V.A. so I'm out of work all the time because V.A. doctors get holidays off. And by holidays I mean the week before and after each federal holiday. Plus no weekends. Also non-federal holidays, foreign holidays, religious holidays for religions no longer in practice (all hail Poseidon!) and made up holidays. Luckily for me, my real job comes with a free house, so I don't need as much money and I like the days off.
I think the reason why most MModal MTs don't have work is because of our generous sharing with our ILPs. Plus, it's a natural side effect of pro-TAT policy. Their mouths were writing checks their rear ends couldn't cash when they promised all the hospitals a TAT of 2 nanoseconds, so they have to keep more MTs than they have work for to ensure that at the busiest times they don't get fined, so at the leaner times there's nothing.
Still, it beats the alternative. If the doctor doesn't get our report back and the patient comes back in, they might actually have to talk to the patient again! They didn't cheat their way through 8 years of medical school just to have to converse with the common rabble.

Those episodes where House did not want to talk to the regular person at the clinic and when he did he scared them half to death...
Then again, I wonder if House did his own dictation and if so what the MT had to deal with in that regard... or he was too high and mighty to do that too...

Im basically a freebee worker for them, so I dont see them tossing me to the wolves...Im above average in line counts and always work my shift..Other then once this holiday season I have had work

To provide financial rewards to Medical Transcriptionists and Master Medical Editors for extra efforts involved in further enhancing quality and driving M*Modal to meeting CHS requirement of <=4% comprehension, <=10% major, and <=15% minor errors. Quality drives excellence in patient care and must be the primary focus for all Medical Transcriptionists.
Based on meeting requirements, a Medical Transcriptionist and Master Medical Editor can qualify for this incentive.
Incentive Program:
Quality Star Program
Each MT/MME will have at least 6 jobs audited per quarter and will receive a rating of Exceptional, Exceeds, Standard, and Opportunity..
Critical Error = 3 points
Major Error = 0.5 points
Minor/Grammar Error = 0.25

Exceeds 1.25-2 points
Standard 2.25-2.75 points
Opportunity 3+ points
QA Rating: Quarterly Bonus

Example: Six reports are audited for an MT during the incentive period. Contained within the reports are 3 minor errors and 1 major. Assigning the points above, the MT would receive a 1.25 score, which equates to exceeds, and would receive $250 bonus.

Must be in good standing with M*Modal at the time of the incentive payout.

We were told recently a doctor was complaining about the quality of our reports. I thought that strange as he has no accent and speaks very clearly. An MT supervisor told me that when they aren't happy with an MT's work because they aren't following instructions or are getting sloppy, they just take them off the schedule.
