Has anyone ever been told - mom2huskies

that you are the only one who complains about pay and the lack of improvement of ASR? Somehow I find it hard that I am the only one on my team who voices their opinion.

you might be the only one - see why

I starting complaining 6 years ago, did me no good, so I gave up complaining. So, you might be the only one "right now" who complains. The rest of us are just trying to get through the day.

Until they "let me go" 3 weeks ago, I sm - MQMT not anymore

periodically emailed ole Vern and told him about the pay and how horrible we were treated. Then a friend of mine quit a month ago and she told the person on the exit interview the pay was horrible, so you probably are not the only one. Other poster is right, after a while you just give up.

oh my gosh, what were you let go for? - complaining too much?

[ In Reply To ..]
I am sorry! I hope you found something right away.
I didn't find anything right away but I am working now sm - MQMT not anymore

Since my audit was too low, they put me on full QA and so I was getting 3 cpl less than normal and did not show up to work hoping to get "fired" but they decided I had resigned my position and accepted it and wished me well. I guess 17 years of service means nothing anymore! Never even discussed it with me tried to talk me out of it. Oh well, glad to be away from the stress!

I know - mom2huskies

I do like my boss, but sometimes I think most CCMs do not think about how hard it is to get by on a minimum wage job.

I hope you apply for UE - mom2huskies

[ In Reply To ..]
I wish you best of luck finding a new position.

Sometimes you just have to speak your mind. I do not think my CCM liked it when I told her that this company only wants to take care of the people in the higher positions. Who knows maybe I will be let go for speaking my mind too.

Emails were probably a catalyst - ex troublemaker

[ In Reply To ..]
While I did not email big V I was rather vocal about running out of work all the time and paycut after paycut. Quite soon I was being audited weekly if not twice weekly (did you know they can go back 30 days and pull up finished reports?), my line counts were monitored and my timecard and punches were being constantly watched for fraud. I had conference calls bemoaning the unacceptable tone in my emails and was written up for insubordination. All because I dared to ask the person above my CCM to switch to another region that had work after my CCM ignored my emails. Shame on me.

Unfortunately you probably painted a big bullseye on your back with your emails. Then the company resorted to find any way they could get rid of you legally and the easiest are failing an audit, not producing enough lines or not working your schedule. It is almost impossible to fight the machine that is Mmodal and that is why so many give up and stay silent. Good for you for sticking it out as long as you did.

Why would/should a corporation care about - L&L

[ In Reply To ..]
you, me, MTs, any employee at any level. The corporation exists to make money for the people who own it. Period. That's the way it's been and will always be. If you don't like it, work for yourself or your mom and pop. Quit feeling sorry for yourself. Remember, it's 99% of us in the same boat.

Kindly don't attack a fellow MT. If you don't like her note, - ignore it. luluwu

Clearly not a motivational speaker by trade - MModal Livestock

[ In Reply To ..]
Telling someone that a social injustice they are personally experiencing, be it large or small, is best ignored because it effects other people too is a strange sentiment. Yes, lots of people are suffering under MModal's boot and most companies are just like them. That doesn't make it right. That doesn't mean it's "normal" and should be tolerated. And it certainly doesn't mean that people should feel guilty for expressing their honest opinion and experiences.

For the most part, the only people who ever changed this world or been part of a movement to change it are "complainers." While you can argue that words won't make things better, you certainly can't argue that telling people "That's the way it's been and will always be," is going to help either.

Things aren't always the way they've been. If that were true women wouldn't be allowed to vote, we'd still be buying and selling human beings openly in the streets, and we'd be afraid to go in the ocean because we might fall over the edge of the world. Society is slow to change, but it does happen.

Maybe we can't win and one day we'll all be literally chained to our desks, typing the mad ramblings of the ASR machine, but I'm not throwing in the towel because some greedy rich executives don't respect me.

People need this site as an outlet to vent their frustrations and they don't need to be told to shut up. We've got MModal for that.

I can only vote once - that I like your post

I was once accused of stealing money from the company by putting extra spaces in my reports. It was accidental, but I got an email telling me that while they hoped it was a mistake, if I did it again, they would either discipline me, fire me, or fire me and prosecute me. I volunteered to give back the 24 cents (actual amount stolen) by mailing them a quarter and they dropped the subject.

So many questions are raised. Why would I need to steal a quarter? Why did MQ need that quarter so bad? Didn't it cost them at least that much to pay someone to craft that letter? If they saw I was leaving spaces in stuff, why not just tell me so I can stop doing it? Why use words like "theft" and "legal action"?

As for complaining, the company I worked in before this told me that I was the only one who had problems with their program going slow as dirt. I Googled my company's name and the problem, and I found dozens of other former and then current employees complaining of the exact same issue, but they said I was the first to ever have that problem.

I actually loved that company (it was eaten by MModal - may it rest in peace), but why do companies feel the need to re-write their own history to make it our fault?
Did you take your quarter and call someone who cares? - Great story
[ In Reply To ..]
As for your last question, why do companies need to rewrite history- it is much easier to blame the employees than realize and accept the responsibility that the policies and or technology in place are actually bad. It is much easier to blame than to fix. Oh they can play the corporate merry go round and shuffle people in and out but nothing ever actually gets fixed. Case in point: SR is a bad technology and it is amazing how much time and money has been spent to convince us otherwise. They have cut our pay multiple times telling us the technology SHOULD actually make us more money but we all know we have lost money. The technology is just bad. Period. It is easier to have programs like BOOST to shift the blame to the MTs rather than fix the actual program itself. They get away with it by telling us we are the only ones complaining and because of our virtual workplace we have no reason not to believe that.
LOL - That's definitely the truth; MM always finds a way - MModal Livestock
[ In Reply To ..]
No matter what it is they find a way to scapegoat it. ASR is our fault for not knowing how to use it.

The low pay is the recession's fault. Apparently the recession started 20 years ago and got worse every year - you would think we would have noticed this.

Quality standards are so high because the hospitals and doctors are picky. Not because MQ created and bred an industry of dictator apologists and hospital coddlers.

They only outsource because America doesn't produce enough MTs. Why don't more people want to do this job... so strange... :)

And they only have to fire American workers because we can't compete with the offshore transcriptionists quality English and strict legal morality regarding customer privacy. Not because the suits needed to make a boat payment and foreign labor is cheap.

Meanwhile, for us, try giving "No one understands a thing that guy says, even QA," as a reason for leaving blanks in a report. But isn't that the historical attitude of the wealthy. The rich have reasons, the poor have excuses.

i used to give a crap now I dont - easier to fade in and fly low

Have You Ever Been Told This And If So------
Apr 09, 2010

what would you do about it.  My TL repeatedly tells us to get off the system when the work volume is low because we are taking food out of other MTs mouths because they cannot feed their families or pay their bills because they need to get at least 20,000 lines per pay, but they cannot do that if we stay on the system, and we need to have compassion for them and get off the system so the ones who need it the most can pay their bills.   Even if our line count is not met, they need i ...

That you can't work on any computer besides a Medquist computer?  I don't get along my CCM.  We don't like each other.  I wanted to load my programs on my laptop so I could work when I was away from home, and I was told that was not possible.  I said I had done it in the past.  I was told, not anymore.  Support backed him on it.  But here lately I have heard people talking about working at Starbucks!!!!  That even during training they ...

I am sweating this out, as everyone else has, and it is not working for me.  The rules are too vague, the training insufficient, and I am struggling with doing whatever I can to get through the report and trying to correct "correctly" - whatever way that really is, there is no explanation.  I don't know when to use F11.  I gave ASR a 4-month try 4-5 (?) years ago when it first was implemented, and see similar non-recognition issues, similar heading issues, and probably I am ...

Told Dr Complaining
Sep 12, 2013

We were told recently a doctor was complaining about the quality of our reports.  I thought that strange as he has no accent and speaks very clearly.  I just did a report of his and his complaints are....do not use 1, 2, 3, etc., spell out one, two, three, etc.., do not leave off THE patient and just type patient at the beginning  of a sentence..do not leave off LABORATORY IS AS FOLLOWS and just type LABORATORY, type what I said.  I said..right on, doc, my sentiments exactly. ...

An MT Supervisor Told Me (Regarding MTs Who Aren't Doing Well)
