Doc just told me to hold my water. - lol

He started dictating an Op note and then got confused. While trying to figure out what the heck he was doing, he said "hold your water."

Maybe I'm just really bored today, or maybe my sense of humor is out of whack, but I started laughing hysterically at that!

When the doc actually talks directly to me instead of just dictating (unless they are being a jerk) it's nice because you realize that he or she knows there is someone listening....even if they're telling you to hold your water...lol

One guy says at the end of every report says, "Thank you for taking this dictation." Another one has a big conversation to us about the weather or sorry you have to work this holiday or something. It makes you feel that they know a real person is on the other end. That's only a few. Then you get the ones that slam the phone down.

Or just give you a dial tone blaring in your - lol

There's a saying with offensive and defensive lines - when the QB is trying to draw you offsides with a hard count, they tell you to "hold your water". Maybe he's already jonsing for more football. LOL.

I once worked for this doctor whom I actually knew on a personal basis too. One day I got a STAT dictation from him. He just called in to dictate that he was "Standing outside Wrigley Field about to go watch the game. Just wanted to let you know. Don't ya wish you were here? Ha ha ha." (He knows I am a huge baseball fan.)

He does this type of stuff to me all the time because he knows I get bored just sitting here listening to his interns dictate. I do appreciate his sense of humor. 8-) Keeps our job interesting and even entertaining sometimes.

I am trying to get a handle on how many of you would be interested in group insurance coverage. So many of the companies we work for dangle "benefits" in front of our noses only to find that joining them costs almost as much as buying it ourselves. So I tried to get into mail and it didn't work. I then tried to get into web clock and it didn't work. I then tried to get into my regular work platform and again no luck. We were told recently a doctor was complaining about the quality of our reports. I thought that strange as he has no accent and speaks very clearly. I just did a report of his and his complaints are....do not use 1, 2, 3, etc., spell out one, two, three, etc.., do not leave off THE patient and just type patient at the beginning of a sentence..do not leave off LABORATORY IS AS FOLLOWS and just type LABORATORY, type what I said. Log into Ultipro click on myself tab and click correctiv actions. I have tried to do this several times and cannot. i get a message that my system cannot handle this, I need explorer 8 or hogher. I tried to download explorer 8 and it says I my system cannot handle it. I tried from personal computer and get same message.
