I thought that was the purpose in having a discussion board on the school site?!
Ask your question here - May get more responses

I am in school also and I come here to ask questions since there are working coders here too. Don't know why more people don't frequent that board, it's open to only students. Maybe try the board at AAPC.
Did they tell you to post questions to the discussion board? - Or to email your instructor?

Perhaps you are asking your question in the wrong place.
I am not sure that instant gratification is necessary in coding . . . I certainly do not get instant answers at work and do not know anyone who does . . . but if you are sure you are asking in the correct forum and if you feel that the instructor is not answering in the agreed-upon time, it is appropriate to contact the school's director. That might get better results than posting gripes on the internet.
Anybody else get annoyed at docs who put every job they dictate in as a priority? I mean, everything they dictate, from a 2-month-old death summary to a 3-week-old T&A. I really hate the ones that are so old that the billing numbers have been erased from system. I'm guessing they were threatened with their license being pulled to get their work caught up. That's more important than H&Ps that need to be transferred with a dying patient right?? ...
I have expierence with QA, although have never been paid production for it. I do enjoy QA more. Does anyone have expierence at All Type in QA? Are they reliable?? Do they pay well? I currently make about 32000/year and need more. Would this be doable? TIA!! ...
ASR for this company is a total joke!!! It gets worse every single day. Remember when they said it would "learn." Well so far, it isn't learning!!! ...
I ask that you not give me all the negative feedback because I have already read that, and plenty of it. I get it. People are frustrated. I get that. I am an MT of 5 years. I went into a different career area because I have a degree in psychology and continued to do MT on the side so I wouldn't lose my skills. However, personal circumstances at home make it easier for me to work from home, and telecommuting social work is not a career option. I had ...
I have limited experience with SR.. did it for a while about 4 years ago. Couldn't make any money on it though. I'm hoping this program is a lot better than the one I used back then and will actually LEARN. Can people make money doing SR now?? Sadly, though, I think this is the future of transcription. ...
variables involved, i.e. FT/PT, working, not working, etc. I'm just looking for a ballpark figure from those who have already completed a program. Thanks for any info! ...
I am in my last semester of an HIT program at my local community college. This program is accredited through CAHIIM. I actually found this program on the AHIMA website as an approved AHIMA coding program and was so excited that it was in my hometown. Well, almost two years later and $4000 in student debt, I still have no idea how to code. Sure, I'm great at Math 101 and English 101 and my anatomy is amazing, but I have no idea how to code. One class that I have ...
The TSM called me and asked me to help out on an account that was way behind in TAT. I agreed to give it a try for at least a couple hours to sort of break it in. Well - I was not only greeted with people dictating that I'm not even sure were speaking English for every report I tried, then QC1 had the nerve to send me major quality alerts for the handful of reports I did. Meanwhile I lost a lot of money and self esteem helping them out. Never again will I do that. &n ...
the games that some employers put out there to increase our production? Not only does it annoy me, but it seems to demean the importance of our work to put it in a game format. But maybe that is just me. ...
You can't get some of the schools to stop calling you even after you tell them you've enrolled with another school and graduated, and have a job. Is anyone else offended by the high-pressure tactics?
If a school has to keep calling and offering discounts and specials, that's a red flag, or is it just me? I got my training years ago and I still can't get them to go away. You expect that from those cheesy sales people trying to sell you whatever, but th ...
Is anyone else even just a little angered with the email from the CCM about the weekly statistics?
The part that really steams my broccoli is "This is no different than if you were to get a quarterly review or yearly review with your pros and cons listed and where improvements need to be made."
Well.... when the CCM and QA lead get quarterly reviews, dont they get RAISES? That is how the rest of the world works! RAISES. My teen son works at Taco Bell and he just got his 6 month review on hi ...
extra holiday pay you earned for working on Thanksgiving? Nuance is so generous, aren't they, to make you work and to compensate you so well for your time too? (insert sarcasm). Hope it wasn't too bad for you ladies (and gents). Let's hope they let you take off Christmas. ...
I've already been through school with Andrews and am getting ready to start the transition ICD-10 course, and I honestly don't mean to be a jerk about M modal. I do feel badly for the MTs there, but I don't see why all the MM coding talk couldn't have just stayed with the MM side of the board. Anyone else feel the same? ...
I think I may have seen this discussed on here before but I can't seem to find the posts. I am looking for a good line counting/word counting program. TIA for any and all suggestions! ...
The pleasures of spending the past 4 months being micromanaged at TTS has resulted in my leaving for greener or shall I say different pastures. I actually am very glad I learned the eScription platform...it is a pleasure to use. My account with TTS was a real plumb ripe for the picking...sweet and fast...really didn't have much trouble making 350 lph editing; however, despite hitting this line count, I barely made more than $10 an hour. Well, this notwithstanding, I persisted working ...
I signed up for college this fall to get a HIT degree and hopefully get out of transcription.
Seems I spend so much time looking up incorrect demographics, patient account numbers, etc., due to dictors entering the wrong information, and with the company I work for, it counts against us, YET we dont get paid to lookup demographics and fix errors, but its our responsbility.
I am finding this so frustrating and spending 9 hours a day to make barely 90 bucks. ...
Why can't we do the test once (they seem to all be about the same) and have it posted somewhere centrally for these potential employers? If you can't get footpedal to work with the transcription section it is a real time consumer and PITA. ...
