recently took the test for Accentus - Ione

Hi all - I recently took the test for Accentus, which was all editing and no straight transcription and which I didn't know would happen. Anyway, I was not offered a job. I thought I did pretty good on the test considering I had no foot pedal and no editing function keys but guess not. Does anybody pass that test? They couldn't tell me what was wrong, almost tempted to call them. Also, need other ideas on where to apply. Any help is appreciated. I've got 30+ years experience! Thanks for your time.

I failed with 30 years' experience. I'll be interested in any replies you get. I was just told I could retest in 6 months.

I was told the same about the 6 months. I need to work before that though and really don't want to take their test again!

I used my own foot pedal and had no technical issues with the test surprisingly. I typically do not care for MT Test in general and planned to have trouble with it. I was also surprised it was all editing.

And it really sucks as it took me a long time to do that stupid test with no foot pedal!

Let me take a wild guess, was it the testing system that fails you and offers you the opportunity to pay for a refresher? Just my opinion.

The only part you "failed" was likely the U.S. - Citizen part. Most want Indians, instead.

But in order to not get called "discriminatory", they have to let everyone test.

Not sure why they are hiring, my friends and I have all been running out of work on a regular basis. I did pass the test, but that was 8 months ago and I have heard they are stricter now. Maybe count your blessings, rather than be hired and sit waiting for work.

Their test was similar to the M-Modal test and Nuance's test, both of which I passed. Not sure how I could have failed this test. Oh well, looks like they don't have much work anyway.

I applied last Thursday, tested on Monday and got the no thanks e-mail on Wednesday.

I received an invitation to test with a link to the MT Test site. I have IE 9 and my browser won't work with their site, I just got a new PC. I'm debating whether I want to download Firefox just to take the test or hook my old PC back up and test. The e-mail I got said that they had an influx of applicants and would be grading tests all weekend, it makes me kind of nervous when there is mass hiring in regard to work availability when all is said and done.

Just so you know, I don't think there are any (or at least precious few) of the MTSOs who allow IE9, most of them don't. From what I understand it is more the VR doesn't work with IE9. You may have to delete that and revert back to IE8 no matter where you go. It also does not matter that you can use a different browser, still will not work.

Thanks for sharing that. MT Test does work with Firefox and IE 9. A lot of people use Windows 7 systems for work. I don't think IE8 is compatible, so what are those of you with Windows 7 doing for a browser?

Wow. Just finished the 1-hour testing for Accentus. Crazy...no player, no pedal, no shorthand program. I had to keep going back up to the play/pause button to start and stop. Hope they account for that. ...

Just wondering how the NJA problem is since 60 of us have moved on. I was contacted recently by PF, tested again in person, set up for training (which was later rescheduled but is apparently still on), and told I have the job, but so far I have been utterly unable to get anything like an actual offer letter or anything STATING the terms of employment, like pay, PTO, basic benefit info, etc. (and I have asked and asked). I have recently started on ChartNet. I read reviews, which are mostly positive, and my question is why? I find it cumbersome with all the headings you have to make with the control/shift keys and entering, starting new headers, etc. Not very fluid at all (for me anyway). Accentus? WOW!! That is all I can say. The platform is so horribly slow and bulky it is pathetic. The sound files are lousy on top of the foot pedal (or even hitting F8) not "working" when you hit it. This was the biggest waste of time!!! ...
