Transcend-Seems to be a lot of negative out there recently. So tell me..... - NewMT

Is there anyone out there that does like their job with Transcend and can you tell me why? i.e. flexibility, good account, decent money/benefits etc. Thanks.

I like most of my accounts, my flexibility, my benefits are decent, pay is not the worst, and tech support is great. I am unhappy with the poor quality of VR that we frequently deal with (which definitely lowers the pay), lack of communication, inability to change regions/accounts, and high cost of insurance.
I like working at Transcend, and, no, I'm not a suit. -sm - AnotherTranscendMT

I came to Transcend from one of the mergers, so I think the fact that most of my previous leadership remains intact is a factor in my contentment here. My summarization of my experience is that no job is perfect, but in this present economy and with the changes that have impacted our industry, all things considered, I'm happy. I gather though that what region an MLS is in impacts their employment experience here.
I have a great ROM and a wonderful TL. As long as the account stays in TAT, the STAT's are covered, and I meet my production commitment they couldn't be more flexible. For the most part, I'm happy with my accounts, although I wish the ESL percentage was lower. Platform is simple and conducive to productivity. For this economy, the cost of my benefits on an individual plan is reasonable. Do I wish that my line pay was higher for the skill level of the accounts that I staff? Most certainly, but for the industry my CPL is at the higher tier of the pay scale. Communication is excellent. Tech support is above average. Know that I'm still on straight typing accounts, so my level of satisfaction may diminish when I'm transitioned to editing. QA is respectful and constructive. I'm treated like a professional and conduct myself accordingly. Pay is always correct and on time.
This is just my experience. Depending on who you ask and what region they're working in, mileage may vary. Overall, for people who desire to remain in this field I would recommend Transcend as one of their primary options for a professional work experience.
same for me - sm

I agree with all of the poster above. There are some aggravations, as with any job. But all-in-all, with the state of the industry, the state of the economy, etc, I think Transcend is the best of the bunch. There are no doubt some great smaller companies, but how long will they be viable?
ditto for me - CardioMT

I am part-time, working in a great region, plenty of work, ROM and TL are great... this is not a perfect world, but Transcend seems perfect for my needs. I don't know anything about the benefits.... this is the second region I have been in in 4 years (first one hospital changed contract and would have been lack of work so ROM found me a region with plenty of work)and both were simply great... hope this helps.
It's great depending on ROM and how much ESL is on your account - mt

they are pretty flexible. If you do VR (as most are), pray you get one that does not have too much ESL, or you will find yourself struggling to meet their income requirements to stay employed. It's super difficult to move regions as well. It seems lately the VR is doing a worse job than normal in formatting, figuring out what the dictator is saying, etc, and that is even for American doctors. But I feel that Transcend is probably the best out there. And I never run out of work.
well, it seems the talk of lawsuit really silenced a few responders - hmmm

I don't work for the company, so I have nothing invested to speak of, but it is interesting to note the absence of Transcend naysayers on this particular post. So, looks like the strong arm presence in the MT online posting community is beginning to pay off for Transcend.
The OP asked who liked their job and why, so people responded to that question. - Just My 4 Cents
I was being honest, and I just gave my notice - mt

Unfortunately, what they want I cannot give in terms of the dollar amount per pay period, but that is because of some personal issues that have come up. otherwise, after seeing posts about all the other companies out there, I'm pretty sure Transcend is the best out of all of them. That does not mean they are ridiculously awesome and everyone would be lucky to work for them, just that out of all the MTSOs, I'm pretty convinced they are the best.
I like it for all the reasons you listed - Fatigued Fingers

Been there about 14 months now. I like both my accounts and I have no problems with mgt.
I am trying to narrow down some companies to work for and have a job offer on the table from Transcend. Some of the posts on here and on glassdoor are negative, but are from early 2010 or older. Has anyone had more recent experience with them? Fear I'll be jumping out of the pan and into the fire. ...
1500 MLSs (medical language specialists) and high KLAS ranking. No mention of sending work overseas or even speech recognition. How long does it take to master their BeyondTxt ? Thank you for any input you might have time to offer. ...
OK.....
It's an orthopedic chart note. Patient has a chief complaint of hip pain.
Dictated: He has a negative [s/l fair, fairs, varus?] sign, a negative fabere sign.
It doesn't sound like fadir; I'm not hearing that "d." I already had to leave two medication blanks and hate to leave another one for an orthopedic sign that I feel like I should know!
Thank you in advance for your help and ideas!

please post how much you got paid per line. I think that really is why you all were let go because you made too much per line. We can narrow it down to that if you would all post how much you made. Thanks ...
Just wondering how the NJA problem is since 60 of us have moved on. We've had 2 new ILP accounts to QA (which are horrible) and 1 group hospitals that have come back from ILP land, but only recieved a small handful of MTs to compensate. My BOB has been swamped for the past week with late jobs every night. My TSM says that her manager said that there isn't anybody who can help out. I was just wondering if he/she is just too lazy to actually look. I know the ...
I just recently finished my MT course through At-Home Professions and Im just waiting to hear back on my final. I feel that I have done well as far as the terminology and looking things up but Im still not comfortable with my punctuation. Does anyone have any advice? ...
working on your accounts from your bought-out company, are you consistently running out of work? We were told things would not change for a while but I'm running out of work all the time. I tried to apply for SUI this morning online but with this particular situation, I could not answer some questions to complete application so I have to go down there, which I am getting ready to do. I don't want to quit but this is getting extremely frustrating punching in and n ...
For the past month, I've applied for an MT position with almost every MTSO who posts a job. I've tested with all of them, and I don't get a call back.
This is a new thing for me. I've been in the industry over 20 years, have done every specialty plus QA.
In the past when I've looked for a job I've found one in only one day. What's up? ...
Hi. I was contacted recently by PF, tested again in person, set up for training (which was later rescheduled but is apparently still on), and told I have the job, but so far I have been utterly unable to get anything like an actual offer letter or anything STATING the terms of employment, like pay, PTO, basic benefit info, etc. (and I have asked and asked). Is this normal for them or a recent development? Everything they have TOLD me in person and on the phone has been just what the PF employees ...
Volumes have skyrocketed in the accounts on my team, and while my manager is spewing off that it's just abnormally high volumes, I think it's because people have jumped ship.
I was wondering if those of you who quit and still visit this board could comment with your ex-TSM's initials. ...
I have recently applied for a job with Keystrokes. Does anyone have information regarding this company? If so, please share with me as I am looking something part time and one of my specialties is Otolaryngology. Thanks for any info you may have! ...
Has anyone taken the CMT exam recently? I'm taking a prep course through AHDI and wonder how similar it is to the actual exam. I'm planning to take it in October & a little nervous after going through the prep. I have 6 years acute care exp. & am disappointed in myself at my progress so far on the prep course. Getting kind of nervous. Don't want to throw $400 out the window on this! Any advice, warnings, etc.? ...
I have recently started on ChartNet. I read reviews, which are mostly positive, and my question is why? I find it cumbersome with all the headings you have to make with the control/shift keys and entering, starting new headers, etc. Not very fluid at all (for me anyway). Does anyone have advice/tips on how to make this more user-friendly? Plus I lose reports and have no idea where they go or how to get them back, so I am losing line count as well. I was happy to read all those positive ...
Accentus? WOW!! That is all I can say. The platform is so horribly slow and bulky it is pathetic. The sound files are lousy on top of the foot pedal (or even hitting F8) not "working" when you hit it. This was the biggest waste of time!!! ...
Just wondered how it was working for you? Our CCM said it would not affect production. I seem to be having to wait between jobs for the next one to load, which will ultimately affect production. Is anyone else having this problem? ...
I would like to know who was just recently hired and how was your experience? I for one have been hired and am not able to start until my computer meets their requirements. So I had to put in more memory and also bring my Microsoft Word up-to-date -- 2007. Just hope this was worth the expense. For some reason, I have a bad feeling about the job itself. Hopefully my fears are wrong.
Let me know what you think. ...
Hi all - I recently took the test for Accentus, which was all editing and no straight transcription and which I didn't know would happen. Anyway, I was not offered a job. I thought I did pretty good on the test considering I had no foot pedal and no editing function keys but guess not. Does anybody pass that test? They couldn't tell me what was wrong, almost tempted to call them. Also, need other ideas on where to apply. Any help is appreciated. I've got 30+ years ex ...
