AccuStat EMR was featured in a Reader's Digest article - mte

Posted: Oct 20, 2009

Before the moderator ices this post, it is public knowledge that they were featured in a Reader's Digest article a few months back about how hard it is to get capital funding from banks. The article said they make 34 million a year but can't get a 500K loan to buy equipment. It said they are trying to transition clients from paper to EMR. I found it strange that if they make that much money a year, that they wouldn't have any capital to invest in the business.

Yes, I find it strange too. When I reported them to the Better Business Bureau, I was told by the BBB that AccuStat claims they went out of business in 2005. Very interesting!!

The article had a misquote in it from what I have been told by the CEO. The amount made was 3.4 million for the first half of the year when the article was written and they were asking for $500,000. That makes more sense of course. AccuStat EMR is definitely not out of business though. SO you are one of those wonderful people that reports to BBB when you are let go huh? Make sure you tell the BBB why you were let go too. No reason you should not have some of the glory as well. Some people!

Article In October's Issue Of Reader's Digest....
Sep 24, 2010

Reader's Digest, October issue, has an article based on physicians, nurses and pharmacists sharing their mistakes which caused fatal incidences.  It could be a good time to write in a response on what is happening with the medical records too.  You know, the errors made with voice recognition, lousy dictation either because of doctors, equipment or environment, and the fact that we are required to have 98% accuracy in transcribing reports, not to mention the off shoring.... ...

AccuStat Posting For Psych Account Again
Sep 01, 2014

Says PRN which is kind of like clean up or someone's gopher and no guarantees. Different for companies who state "On Call' where you are paid even if there is no work!  And it also is not like a nurse who is per diem and gets sometimes DOUBLE because of no benefits.  Not here though.  Probably double the headaches and time spent for pennies of self learning. ...

Article In My Paper Today About MT Course...
Feb 21, 2010

There's an article today in my hometown newspaper from an area community college about its MT course, about how MTs are needed for VR, how they make $34,000 a year, and how you can work at home.  I just wanted to puke. Of course the goal is to get gullible people to sign up for their course, hoping they don't bother to research it too closely.... ...
