a patient's mental/emotional state. But this company would want the statement deleted?? Doesn't sound right or legal!

It's gotten to the point where doctors will include details about their patients' lifestyles, habits, family relationships, etc., that may be linked to an illness or condition, and yet most of it will never be documented in the record because some MTSO has decided those details are not important enough about the patient to be transcribed in their medical record. What utter nonsense!! In my opinion, that MTSO is overriding a physician's judgment and authority on what is or isn't to be considered relevant information about their patient.

Between this sort of thing and those disclaimers added at the bottom of reports, healthcare documentation is headed down a slippery slope and right over the cliff!!

There ought to be a law against the practice of altering physicians' dictations by an MTSO.
