You are also 100% correct! I was in my doctor's office recently after a biopsy I had done and he MIGHT have spent 15 seconds of the entire 5 minute visit looking at the incision or into my eyes when he spoke. The rest of the time was spent looking at the small laptop screen he takes around with him from patient to patient. This is what EMR has done to the doctor/patient relationship. I can only imagine how our senior citizens feel when that type of thing happens to them.
