Not stupid at all - anon

May be more genetic than chronological. I had an ortho appointment today, some supraspinatus tendinitis, some external bruising on the biceps muscle. Every time I hit a key, it rebounds up to my shoulder. My hands are shot, both thumbs a joke, will likely need bilateral thumb arthroplasties, but I run from the thought of surgery. After so many acute care years in this business, I refuse to do ANYTHING the least bit invasive unless it is absolutely life-threatening. I don't know whether or not to mention it to my team lead either. I probably won't say anything. When I made the ortho appointment, I was asked if it was a comp case, and I choked, didn't know what to say, could only say there is no dx at this time. This horrible pay is not a supplemental income for me, it's the full monty, with a little help from Social Security, so I can't stop working either. Not exactly the way I pictured my golden years. So no, it's not totally stupid one bit. I feel your pain and wish you the best.
