letter in the mail: Why MQ is the Best company to work for - tab

Posted: Nov 13, 2009

I think that is the letter many of you are referring to.  They could have just sent me the cost of the letter instead of sending one, even if it is only around 55 cents.  Think about is 55 cents x thousands of employees..... thats a chunck of change.  The letter outlined why MQ is the best company to work for and how they are glad I chose MQ as my employer.  This just seems like an attempt to keep us, very stupid, but they have had loads of people up and quit just in the last month.  I guess they figure that we are so stupid that instead of giving us better benefits or a greater paycheck that a letter with nice stationary will be just as good.  I am FT with limited benefits so really there is no reason to stay, but now that I got that letter I might as well work for MQ for the rest of my life!!!

Not to use an archaic saying, but - They Said What

[ In Reply To ..]
"Isn't that special!"

I never did and never will understand the Q. I was in the same boat as you until about 6 months back. I found other work and quit. I am going to have to say I was stupid not to do it sooner.

I much rather preferred being treated as if they were glad I worked there vs a letter that doesn't mean much.

I'm happy with the letter. It gave me some hope in the future. I don't want to change my profession and would prefer not to change my employer.

MQ letter - anon

Thank you - you must be management or very new. The hope for the future with MQ is only if you are moving to India.

This is classic!! - Former MME Susan

I received this letter as well. It was postmarked 11/9. The joke is on them - I gave my notice on 10/26, and my last day was 10/30. They're really on the ball. As for me, I'm sooooo much happier, no more trying to decifer ESL docs or trying to sort out ILPs work. Life is good!!

What else was in the letter? - shipwrecked

[ In Reply To ..]
I did get the letter, but it was just a single page. Am I missing something?

This is one letter I'm going to save. Never know when you'll need something like that if you get fired and need evidence!

MQ letter - enigma

[ In Reply To ..]
Just the one page about how much they appreciate us, and want to make sure our employment with them is "mutually beneficial." HA!!! I am surprised they have any good transcriptionists left, and actually wonder if they do. I should have quit 2 years ago, but I stayed and things have gotten completely unmanageable. I can't concentrate any more due to the stress caused by my career no longer making me a living.

DID WE ALL GET THE SAME LETTER? - Mine was one page, but double-sided.

[ In Reply To ..]
Did you have on the front page about 95.7% overall customer satisfaction and 93.6% turnaround times?

Back page about your clearly defined career path? How MQ wants to retain the "best of the best?"

Just curious. This letter is good to keep for future jobs, etc. Maybe I should frame it!!!

MQ knows exactly what they are doing. - Scooby-Doo

[ In Reply To ..]
They're definitely not stupid. They're either buttering us up to stick around after another big pay cut (think rupees) or another huge change in job description, (think MMEs only, no MT).

MQ letter - enigma

[ In Reply To ..]
That occurred to me, too--that perhaps we would now all be required to become MMEs...just more work for less pay, yet again, while trying to fool us with the title "master" to think we have gotten a promotion.

switch to MME already started - here we go

[ In Reply To ..]
I posted this below but certain MTs are given the "trust" to send through reports directly to the client with 2 blanks or less. Totally bypass QA. More work, less pay. Oh and we were told what an "honor" this was- Gag me!

I would be very suspicious of this letter - Hammertoe

MQ is evil, get ready for a grand change. Glad I am gone.

Did Anyone Get Their Letter In The Email Yet From MQ?
Nov 12, 2009

Received a letter from MQ.  Basically it is a thank you letter of how my efforts are paying off for MQ.  How we had to adapt to change over the past 3-4 years.  About off-shoring and basically how a survey will be coming in 2010.   The company basically appreciates us, however, SHOW ME THE MONEY!!  Instead, we get money taken away over the years and yet, they appreciate us. Overall, the letter was well written.  Tell me what you think?  I am glad they appreci ...

Anybody Else In The Letter Business?

The conglomerate I type for mostly (which is about 30 university clinics, each with 150 or so non-English-speaking residents) sends almost everything in "letter" form.  There is a useless letter standard, but I spend the first 1-2 minutes of the dictation on the address (and have to manually re-enter into the cc list), usually have to go Google to try to find how Dr. Swishandswash spells his name and address in Podunkville.  It is killing me.  There must be some way to stream ...

I have excellent quarterly QA scores. I was the go-to MT with drop-dead reliability, who would stay there until the job was done. My references are perfect. I had formal MT traini ...

Letter To The Editor
May 23, 2012

Medical Transcriptionist Week began May 20th to recognize MTs over a week. The theme this year: Patient Safety. MTs across the country are transcribing medical records and are dedicated to being a 1st-line defense against errors that can negatively and sometimes fatally affect you as a patient - physicians make mistakes. MTs ensure those errors do not end up in your Electronic Medical Record.  Healthcare consumers are you aware that local hospitals are outsourcing their work to what are kno ...
