It's disgraceful that MModal hasn't made a public statement - SuziQ

This is an absolute disgrace.

Not just out of courtesy to the employees that break their back to earn the money they've mismanaged, but also as a courtesy to their clients who pump money into their overly fattened wallets.

What kind of a company allows an entire day to fly by on the heels of a bankruptcy announcement in the press and doesn't make a statement? Do they honestly believe we don't know this is happening? Surely they must know their employees and clients have questions ... doesn't this company have a publicist?

Maybe they are actually waiting to - file first Most companies...

Don't usually make a public statement to let people know they are in financial trouble until a decision has been made on how they plan to proceed, who it will impact and what their future plans are.

SURELY they don't expect us to wait 2 whole weeks - for an announcement

That is the time frame the article states for the filing. I would be blown away if they expected their clients and employees to wait 2 entire weeks before issuing a statement - that would be like committing PR suicide.

And now that the article is out there and it's all over the internet, hopefully a statement will be coming soon. I know if I still worked there, I would be sitting on pins and needles and be a nervous wreck.

Unfortunately though, these big businesses don't make those type of announcements until they have all their ducks in a row.

To make a public statement now, would leave - too many unanswered questions.

Disgraceful? I absolutely agree. Surprising? no. They do not regard their employees as human beings, only as machines, and who cares about the needs and feelings of machines? One of the reasons I am going into law is to try to help the "little guy" (and gal) who gets by the corporate world. I think it's a safe bet you won't see me wearing a Brooks Brothers suit and joining a white shoe law firm. I'm more the civil/employee rights kind of guy. That aside, I think M*Modal should be more than ashamed of themselves.

I think it's equally disturbing that their clients seem to have become a "cog in the wheel" too - they don't seem to care any more for them in this situation than they do us, and that's probably the most disturbing thing of all.

They are going to lose TONS of money and income in the fallout from this which is going to make their money problems ten times worse.

I completely agree that the public needs to be informed of where their medical records are going. But do you know that in my 10 years of MTing, most people I have encountered, asking what I do for a living, are not even aware of what the medical record is? I've had to explain what it is more times than not. They have no idea that there are reports being made for every doctor visit or procedure they undergo. Can't remember exactly, but maybe 20 years or so ago, the IRS focused on MT companies using ICs, did audits on them and some wound up paying bigtime. As a consequence, the practice of using ICs in the MT industry all but disappeared for awhile, but obviously it's gradually crept back. I know some like it, but it really isn't a good situation for MTs because it allows companies to escape and/or avoid all kinds of employment laws, regulations and fiscal obligations that ...

current date into the body of the report, it's puts the WRONG date. For example, I just noticed that it put 11/08/2010, and of course it's 08/10/2010. So, I may have been inserting the incorrect address until noticing this. Does this happen with anyone else or just me? As an ex-Transcender/now Nuance employee (ugh!), we used to be able to see what our paycheck would be two days in advance by logging onto ADP and checking our "pay statements" from the home page.
