you are cherry-picking the information you are finding and just focusing on the parts that make MT sound like a good idea.

Yes, there are some problems with the outsourced work and with some of the VR material. They pay us tiny amounts of money to fix those problems if the client actually cares about them (you'd be surprised at how many don't care what their records look like as long as they are cheap to produce). It is still cheaper to continue to use third-world workers and to continue to apply technology wherever possible than to go back to straight transcription. The technology is getting better at a rapid pace, and once facilities have seen how cheap they can get their transcription done in a third-world country, they discover that they can live with the poor quality.

Straight transcription is not coming back, no matter what you see on a few YouTube videos or hear from the schools eager to line their pockets to train you for a job that. if you can find one at all, will not be worth the time and effort you have to put into it.

You are hearing the truth from people actually working in the field, but you seem to have chosen to believe what you have heard from people with a vested interest in persuading you to train for MT because they profit from the training. They don't care if you never find a job. They will tell you anything you want to hear to get you to sign up for an expensive training course, after which you will be competing with experienced MTs for fewer and fewer jobs.

You can believe the people who tell you what you want to hear just to take your money, or you can believe the people who actually know what the MT industry is like and where it is going. Your choice.

Just understand that when you come back here in despair because you spent so much time and effort (and let's not forget the taxpayers' money) in training but cannot find a job, you're not going to get much sympathy.

You would be much better served to find another program that will lead to an actual job that is worth your time.

If you absolutely must work at home, research customer service for companies like Amazon, Apple, Dell, and the like. They pay better and are among the few outsourced jobs that are actually being brought back to the US.

I suspect we've all wasted our time and inconvenienced a large number of electrons in our effort to share the truth about MT with you. The charlatans seem to have you convinced that what they are selling is the key to paradise and that we don't know what we're talking about.

You are not the first aspiring MT to come here with stars in her eyes only to learn that MT is not the ticket to happiness she had been led to believe it was by the schools eager to take her money. They all tell us we are horrible people for sharing the truth. We're used to that. We still tell people the truth. And when they come back and whine that they were lied to and cannot find a job or keep a job if they are lucky enough to find one (another issue your YouTube videos don't seem to have explained), we do tell them we told them so. Because we did tell them. But they didn't believe us.
