if you have been researching medical transcription for a long time, you should know that any school trying to sell you a training program for a practically dead field is a con. Please, listen to the MTs and NOT the con artists such as Career Steps. We have spent a lot of time informing prospective MTs about this profession, yet it seems none of them listen, only to be sorry they did it when they try to get a job. I assume the only positives you have heard about this profession is from either Career Steps another school or AHDI (Association for Healthcare Documentation Integrity), formerly AAMT (American Association for Medical Transcription). AHDI needs the MT profession to continue in order to maintain their positions. No REAL MT would suggest you get into this profession unless they were so sheltered they had no idea what has happened to this profession over the last decade.
