I don't think many with experience would accept .02 CPL. I would imaging this forces MTSOs to train newbies. I'm sure they have to pay QA far more than .04 CPL to correct and go over the work. Even if they did pay QA only .04 CPL to do this, they are paying at least .06 CPL total. By the time the new editor is sufficiently trained to go off 100% QA they have had more than enough time to realize that they will never make a living doing this kind of work, the lies ...
I have handed in my resignation effective immediately. I am so tired of hearing these foreign doctors, failing my audits and working every darn weekend. I have had enough. No, I don't have a job but I am hopeful and I will be getting my husband's SS soon. I just can't take this BS anymore.

Hi everyone! Last month, I posted on here that I resigned effective immediately. I had had enough of the crappy ESL doctors, the audits, the poor VR, etc., etc. I just want everyone to know there is hope. I found out today that I will be getting my husband's SS with a lump sum at the end of this month and monthly payments starting in August. The payments may be more than what I originally thought. I have also put out about 40 resumes and have only gotten one bite. that one bite is a ...
The latest HCPCS code update that went into effect on July 1, 2014 is important for pain management practitioners and coders since it modifies the way you report some morphine and propofol administrations. Read more.. ...
Am I the only one that feels this way??? Tell me, please, how do they expect us to make a living when they are paying squat to keep their cost of service down??

Apparently this doctor thinks that the new year coming up is 2012. He has dictated in two separate reports that these patients have procedures scheduled for January 2012 and they are in for their preoperative evaluation now. Either that or these patients are getting their preoperative evaluation more than a year in advance. I wish doctors/dictators could be reprimaned for their mistakes. ...
Dear all,
I'm pleased to announce that the 2011 MT Survey is now live. If you remember the 2007 MT Survey, this is a continuation of that (with some changes). In the previous survey, we received 3800 responses, which culminated in the report MTs on the Radar (you can find it at http://ehealthrecords.wordpress.com/publications/). We are hoping for another successful survey. So if you are interested in completing the survey, you can go to http://www.medicaltranscriptio ...
I have misplaced my 2011 payroll schedule. Can somebody tell me if our December pay period ended on 12/28/2010? For some reason, that sticks in my mind. Thanks :) ...
It's very simple and I am very serious:
1. If you are unhappy with how the MT career is changing, unhappy with the new pay (it won't go back up, folks, only down further), unhappy with changes in technolog, etc.: Do something THIS YEAR to get out of MT work completely. Don't feel you can venture too far from it? Do something like coding/billing. Want to stay in the medical world? How about LPN or RN? Dental Hygienist? HR speci ...
Poor Mr. Davenport only earned a little over 3 million. So sad.
I guess my giving up eating was worth it.

I have just used the Saunders Pharm Books for years and not the CD. I'd love some feedback if you have used the CD and how you like it or even what is your preference regarding drug books. Thanks! ...

In this document, they do point out there are valid reasons for blanks. So... if MQ is going to adopt this, we should no longer be punished for valid blanks. They also include standards for dictators and recognize that lack of dictator compliance with these standards is a cause for blanks. Plus, IMO, ...
I was trained as a Medical Transcriptionist at a two-year college from 1990 to 1992. I worked at a hospital for a couple of years doing radiology, non-invasive cardiology, and neurology transcription, then I got married and moved. Soon thereafter, I started work at a mental health clinic as a Medical Transcriptionist with 12 other transcriptionists. This was in late 1993 and I am still there as of right now. The 12 transcriptionists have either left or been laid off over ...
New job figures out today: Health care continued to add jobs in December (+23,000); employment in hospitals increased by 10,000. Over the year, health care employment has risen by 315,000.
Any increase in health care employment is good for MTs. ...
I have been doing some research on closed captioning and CART jobs/career.
I searched the archives here, also.
Does anyone know, however, if one needs to be a court reporter in order to learn the above jobs? I'm wondering if one can learn stenography, etc., in some type of program without going through the entire curriculum of court reporting.
Thanks! ...
I graduated from there 3 years ago. Gave up on a MT career but still get their employment opportunity emails. The one today said they're closed. News to me. Anyone know why? ...
Their last day was May 5. It looks like they're closing down services to grads, too, something I thought would never go away. In my mind, there is no doubt transcription is a sinking ship. ...
Hey all, just a thought - if you're all tired of these transcription companies, it seems that closed captioning/court reporting out of your home is the way to go. I recently checked into this and it is very lucrative and you don't have to deal with outsourcing, low pay, all the "fun stuff" that medical transcription has to NOT offer. And, if you have a medical background, you get paid more as we are in high demand and would mean more pay. Again, just a thought and am definitely excited ...
I thought I had found a reference indicating a "closed-book" exam for SI joint pain. Now I can't find it and I have been using it for a couple of weeks and I don't know whether I found it or just thought I had found it. Anybody familiar with it? ...
Hey guys, the other day I tested a software program called VoxcribeCC, it works well on videos. If you do closed captioning or subtitling, it really eases the task with its speech recognition and time stamping functions. Accuracy is pretty high. I think it is way more powerful than dragon ...
Would that maybe be an option for those of us in need for work? That's not something I'd think would be going away and I remember hearing years ago that the pay was better than MT. Though what's happened to that field in the years since, I have no clue. I just can't imagine that every being outsourced. ...
and the window to request Christmas is about to open, and the new rule our "scheduler" made up is that we can only take one of them, it would be nice if she would PROCESS THE THANKSGIVING REQUESTS SO WE KNOW IF WE CAN REQUEST CHRISTMAS OR NOT.
On a side note, since we can only take one of them, I suspect because she thinks it will make her job easier, that's going to throw way too many people working on completely dead holidays, which will lead to her having to fill out a ton ...
I have recommended that she start on a very vigorous exercise program including S/L closed tang quads and hip stabilizing exercises as well as walking and aerobic-type exercises.
