$13.50/hour-YUK, you will get audited post delivery constantly and will run out of work daily unless you get a super busy account. Oh, you will have to buy software too if your Word program is not right version to work for them.
Turned down $13.50 a year and a half ago - burns me up

In November of 2011, after a lot of testing, I was then told I would have buy MS Word Professional at $175 and said I wasn't buying anything until they told me the pay. Then I got the $13.50 an hour response and turned it down... They still haven't raised that rate of pay! So sad, their profit percentage was what last year? Bottomfeeders... At the time, I was making $14.00 per hour on unemployment!
QC hourly 10-12. Not worth it with the garbage - you will get. Tried it and ran back

to MLS status. Yes, you do run out of work.

Does Nuance REQUIRE that you clock out the very second you run out of work, or do they let you wait, say, 30 minutes ON THE CLOCK to see if work will come in before clocking out?
I ask this because it seems to me that I'd rather sit there ON THE CLOCK at $12/hour waiting for work, than sitting there on my own time (whether it be PTO, minimum wage, or unpaid) waiting for work to come in.
If you're an MT in any capacity and you're being paid by the hour, stop complaining and start counting your lucky stars. It can most certainly get a whole lot worse.
You cannot do that because like MLS you have a - quota to meet. If you stay

punched in and no work during that time, you will not meet your required production (it will cause your daily production to fall low). Paid hourly isn't a free pass - trust me, you'll work for that small hourly $$. You make out better as an MLS.
PS If you run out of QC work you will be expected - to switch to MLS mode.

That should hopefully keep you from running out, but it doesn't always. There are times the barrel will be empty unfortunately.
Line count requirement - Vickie

Does anyone know what the line count is for an MLS at Nuance. The hourly line count required for transcribing. Thanks
Line Count - Moose

The line count at Nuance is a combined 186 lph. They take how many lines you type in a week, then divide that by your total clocked-in hours. Essentially that breaks down to needing to type over 1400 lines per day and over 7400 per week. So if you are clocked in, you better make sure you are typing or it really screws up your line counts. They track "system time" versus your "clock time" which never matches, and you supposedly get 2 paid 15 minute breaks, but yet that counts against your productivity, so to ensure you get a break, AND maintain your productivity you can clock out for your breaks, but then you have to make up that time so you have 8 hours in a day - so essentially you don't get "paid" breaks, it's a joke. They say that new grads get 6 months to hit those line counts, but they will write you up w/in 90 days with threat of termination if you don't hit the 186 lph. You have to work full-time (40 hours) as a new hire for 1 year, just fyi.
Quit job to take guaranteed hourly paid editor position with MedScribe (FL) 3 weeks ago. Recruiter promised huge volume of work, plenty of backup accounts on hourly pay plus CPL for transcribed lines. Was rushed through paperwork to start immediately, gave only 5 days notice to former employer (burned that bridge) for an hourly paid "sure thing". Never saw hourly pay; only 0.08 CPL for full transcribe acute care, and only to catch up an out-of-TAT acct they knew was bailing ...
I am thinking of getting into medical transcription but all I read on here is negative posts about how little work is available and how you are all getting paid less than you were last year. Now, please don't flame me, I know this is a cheeky question, but to be quite honest ".08 cpl" doesn't mean much to me. Would anyone mind telling me what they actually earn per hour (when the work is there) and how many hours per day they generally work. It will just give me an id ...
Been at a cushy happy place clinic job for a few years, no audits, laid back, nice. Making 18 d/h. Type the same stuff, over and over. Boring, but no nail biting. I produce 300+/hr. Should I take a position from home? Will I be making a mistake? I need some opinions pleeease. ...
I've been out of the transcription loop for the last 2 years while I've been getting my registered nursing degree. I did transcription for 20 years until I got tired of the nonsense. I'm done with school, studying to take my boards, but have been offered an hourly part-time position. Can someone tell me what hourly pay is going for now? I was production paid for most of my transcribing years for the last few years I took an hourly employee ...
I'm re-applying to MQ as I desperately need a job. My question is, are you all able to make at least $10.00 per hour still?? I ask because in searching around, it looks like $10.00 is the best I'm going to be able to do. I do radiology so I will probably end up doing a lot of editing which I have never done before, so I'm just curious to see if $10.00 is realistic doing both straight typing and/or editing? Any info appreciated. Such a shame that its c ...
Can anybody please tell me what is a fair hourly rate for a transcriptionist in a single-doctor office in Texas? The last time I worked as an MT in a clinic was 18 years ago. I then worked for a large hospital and made about $9 more an hour than my highest clinic pay. After getting laid off, I worked for N for a few months and have been out of the MT field for a little over a year. Thanks in advance! ...
Hi all. I'm a newbie to these boards.
I've been reading all the posts here about the VR programs. More production + more hours = less pay.
Does anyone here work for a company that has gone to an hourly rate instead of pay per line? And if so, what are your thoughts/experience on this? I'm working for a company that has changed us all over to hourly pay and I'm still very unhappy. ...
Also, how much experience do Account Manager/Shift Manager types have? Years ago I worked for a couple of MTSOs and my "supervisors" had less experience than me (and would have to ask me to figure out blanks in reports) so I'm guessing its often just a matter of how long you've been there and who you know and sometimes how much you're willing to put up with (one supervisor bragged that she worked about 20 hours a day). ...
... it is still not possible to make minimum wage even for those of us who edit VR at lightning speed, because there is no work during many of the shifts (mine). I've been promised another account, told no other shift is available. A line rate increase will not help me at all. They have sent most of the work overseas now, lost a few accounts, and cannot afford to lose all US MTs.
I am aware of nine others besides me, who have lawyers. Quick, numerous complaints from ...
Last week I asked what you all thought was a fair hourly rate for a one-doctor clinic MT. I went to the interview on Tuesday. The job ad was for a "medical records transcriptionist." The office uses an EMR. The nurse practitioner uses the EMR, but the doctor uses a piece of paper that resembles the EMR screen and checks the appropriate boxes and writes additional comments. The job is to take those papers and input the data in the EMR. It's not actual transcription, no headset or foot pedal ...
I am truly at a loss to understand why my pay continues to decline. I thought I already hit rockbottom. I am averaging far, far less than I did 30 years ago. ...
for transcriptionists. Always been paid by line count production and now I am looking at an hourly rate. Company won't tell me pay rate until interview. Afraid that it will only be like $10 an hour and don't want to bother with interview if it will be too low. ...
What minimum LPH do we have to make to keep out of trouble with our team leaders? What is our minimum wage amount at Nuance? I got hired and no one even told me what our pay is (other than .04/.08 line). I have only been at Nuance for 3 weeks; I suppose this information is in the documents they attached to our emails when we trained, but I am too busy to look at it. Thanks in advance for the answers to the above two questions :) ...
Hello -
I am a long time salary employee for an orthopedic group that is laying off all inhouse transcriptionists and outsourcing to Nuance. Does anybody know the production line rate of pay offered by Nuance? ...
Shall we make our guesses? Wonder if the new pay scale will be an across the board percentage reduction in rates or will everyone be moved to the bottom rate of 8 and 4? What about the people recently hired who make 8 and 4? Will they go even lower?
My personal opinion (pure speculation on my part) is they might just reduce all shift differentials and perhaps jack with the incentive plan some more.
I know they were going to roll out this new pay scale soon, but the anti ...
