Wow. My TSM takes a full week of PTO about EVERY - few months....I am NOT

exaggerating, either! Just how much PTO do the TSMs get??? Just another injustice and shows how little they think of US, the ones who do the REAL work around here. At the rate my TSM takes PTO, that must be no less than a month of PTO per year?

then it is happening with more than one supervisor. The other side of the coin is some supervisors could be calling it PTO but it might not be compensated. Hard to say. My last supervisor had been with the company less than a year and seemed to take off all the time which I had found rather surprising.

angry transcriptionists had to come to, I am not sure that 6 weeks PTO would be enough to compensate for handing down missives from on high, etc.

have to worry about their pay being slashed for minor mistakes that don't affect PT care. They don't have to make heads/tails of 90% mush-mouthed ESLs who spew nonsense out of their pie holes expecting us to translate it AND, if we don't get every little "a," "and," "the" exactly right, WE FAIL, have to catch hell for how terrible we are doing AND THEN ON TOP OF IT possibly not being able to pay all of our bills because of it. I say PFFFFFFFTTTTT to TSM stress. WE are the ones who need 6 weeks off per year.

Somebody in management devises some new scheme, say a new pay plan. TSMs know it is crap and that it is not going to go over well. New plan is announced via email with the line of, if you have any questions, ask your TSM. TSMs are the ones who get to absorb the anger of the MTs that was generated by upper management.

They also get to worry about every time management gets a bur up their butt about restructuring, etc. to where they will often decide you are no longer needed. There was once a time I had considered applying for a management position and the more I thought about, the more I realized no way! Especially with the various mergers, take-overs, TSMs are the easy targets for lay-offs.

Yep. They get 4 weeks a year and are encouraged to take 1 week off per quarter. You know, because they work so hard. smh.

They sure do. They also get better insurance coverage for a less costly rate than MTs. And a lap top. And a cell phone. And I think their internet bill is paid for. No, really, I'm not bitter. Sigh. I just wish MTs were compensated half as well.

There are also the TAT bonuses they receive off our backs. I get that TSMs work hard, but so do the MTs, and this TAT bonus going to the TSMs seems particularly unfair.

It is so exhausting trying to get your hours in with all the OOW. I can't apply for partial UE because I have another part time job (which also makes it difficult to sit here waiting for work all hours of the day), but I definitely would if Nuance was my only job. MT of the year/month or whatever. I figure if I show up for work every day, do everything I have to do without complaining, sometimes extra when asked, always make 99% or better on QA, then I should be considered for MT of the year, yet somehow imagine my name never even comes up when they are considering.
