Does anyone get a full week of work anymore? - The OOW is just ridiculous

It is so exhausting trying to get your hours in with all the OOW. I can't apply for partial UE because I have another part time job (which also makes it difficult to sit here waiting for work all hours of the day), but I definitely would if Nuance was my only job.

The reason I have another job is I get absolutely too depressed being at the mercy of the goddawful FIESA and nitpicky QA.

It's absolutely disgusting the amount of OOW, even adding account after account, they are all out of work too!

If these accounts are going to EMR, why not level with us, Nuance?

Since us highly experienced MTs who are most familiar with the accounts get absolutely no advantage over the newbies, why not at the very least do something very basic for us: Make sure there is work in our accounts, stop the overhiring and the terrible scheduling!

How many people are employed to hire, schedule, etc., and if so why is it so horrifically bad? I guess the answer is that the only thing that matters is TAT and that means the amount of MTs OOW matters not at all.

It doesn't even seem as though they are worried about partial UE, so why is that? I guess as long as they only have to pay partial claims it doesn't worry them as long as the TAT is good.

tell me to use my PTO to cover to make sure it equals 40 hours. What?? Thought we didn't have to do that, and I won't. My main account runs out every day by 7 a.m. At my former company this was managed so well that we never ran out of work. No one could work on it if it wasn't their shift. Absolutely all they care about is TAT. So frustrating.

So I had to use some PTO. There should really be enough work for at least HALF of your hours, come on, really.

The pay cuts combined with lack of work means serious paycheck deficit, even though we are many of us sitting here from dawn till dusk trying to string together a few hours. I mean, what else are you supposed to do?

Sadly, if you read the company board many MTSOs use this method, ostensibly to keep TAT 100% and who cares if we are left without work.

Absolutely disgusting practice on the part of Nuance. If they ever offer OT it is invariably at night. If they staffed the night shift properly rather than offering the odd OT (which invariably cleans everything out) for a change we might have some work in the morning. Wouldn't that be nice? I work best in the morning, so really hate that every morning there is no work.

The only thing worse than no work is when you start to work and you get OOW like 3 times a day. This does not encourage good work habits, and you almost get used to wandering around because of the no work, so when there is finally work, whoops, hard to remain glued to the seat for any length of time.

Check your state's OOW labor laws or file - partial unemployment

You do not have to nor should you use your own PTO because Nuance ran out of work. Regardless of what they try to say, the onus is not on you to flex or use PTO.

I had a FT job that kept running out of work. I asked to be made part-time because I could not afford the benefits any longer. In the meantime, I was hired FT by another company, but got fired and prevailed in an unjust firing from the full-time job. Part-time job now would not reinstate me to full time. What a blessing in disguise! I, too, thought I could not apply for unemployment a) because I was fired and b) because I had a part-time job. Wrong! I could, I did, and receive weekly payments now.

Working at .075 cpl for ScribeRight I made a whopping 12K in 2009. I sometimes watch the boards and see number of people discontent with Nuance and looking for something else .  In the back of my mind is "maybe they leave and I will get more work."
