Does anybody else work for a company who takes your pay away like sm - MQMT

MQ does? If you send in too many blanks then they dock your pay. I also work for another company who has started docking pay for another issue and just wonder what other companies out there are doing this as I am ready to find a new company to work for. This taking away our money is ridiculous especially for the reasons they are doing it!

they will continue to do it. I used to work for them, quit when they "restructured" our bonuses and incentives, taking my bonus pay from 100-plus to $10, I saw the light and got out pronto!!! As long as people will work for them and put up with it they will continue to do it though. Redundant, I know, but true.

for the report if you make an error in the demos (they don't pay for the demos in the first place). I really don't see how it's legal to not pay an employee for an entire report that they typed because there's an error in the demo information which they expect you to do for free in the first place. But then again, this company also makes you work OT and doesn't pay for OT. I predict sooner or later, the law is going to catch up with all these companies ignoring the labor laws.

I don't think they can do that. Otherwise, they're getting an otherwise useable report done for free. And who's to stop them from claiming "incorrect demographics" on LOTS of reports? No one.

These people are despicable. Right up there with BP, in my opinion. In the quest for that Almighty Extra Dollar, BP has laid waste to an entire gulf. And these unscrupulous, greedy MTSOs have laid waste to an entire U.S. industry.

Re OT Pay - MT

Careful what you wish for in terms of working OT and not getting paid the hourly OT equivalent. Remember, when they're paying you time and a half (or any hourly rate) the OT has to be approved, which means if you're short on your production or need a little extra cash, you can't just HOP ON whenever you feel like it.

That Almighty Company we all know and love went "legit" with OT hours, and then took away our option to do it unless it was approved. I think whoever made the huge stink about giving OT, killed it for everyone.

So hush about that. Don't cut your own throat.

the need for disciplinary action for errors but don't understand the need to dock pay. If an MT continually messes up, get them off the account.

What company requires OT?

The LAW will not catch up, without reporting to State Labor board and IRS - .

audit until we are back up to the 98% requirement. I really do not see anything wrong with that because if you are not doing the job correctly, why should you be paid the full amount??

most certainly should NOT be forced to work for a lower wage until they get around to another audit, like the OP said, who's to stop them claiming you and all failed audits just to make them more money. As we well know, those pennies can add up pretty darn fast!!

false information. A QA or a manager can access your work, tweek it, and make *mistakes* magically appear. And then fire you for it. And there's no way to prevent it, because at most places you can no longer access the job once you hit "send".

The only recourse, which of course will then cut your production pretty drastically, is to start documenting positively EVERYTHING. Copies of all reports (minus all patient-identifying information, of course, a la HIPAA), and just file it under the job or work order number. Copies of all work descriptions, changes to work descriptions, mass emails, personal emails, yada yada yada. All that could be a full-time job in itself. Of course, that's what the employer is banking on. Keep em underpaid, so they have to work during most waking hours in order to get by, and those nasty little peons aren't going to have much time to keep good records.

But, if we want to be able to prove anything in our behalf, it's the only way it can be done.

They said I made 2 identical mistakes on 2 different reports - a mistake I never would have made once, much less twice - like it was in someone's expander wrong, you know? I had the feeling that either I sent in those reports with blanks that got filled in by the "mistakes", or they got tweaked after receipt on the client's end then later randomly selected and blamed on me. I thought about disputing it, but I still had a decent enough overall QA score, so I let it go.
