Lines -  It takes me hours longer to get what I used to get - FastMT

Posted: Nov 08, 2012

Is anyone else having trouble achieving their daily goal since all the work has been pooled together here at Nuance?  It takes me hours longer to get what I used to get.

Yes, for a long while now it takes me all day - so tired

[ In Reply To ..]
I didn't know what was going on but for a couple months on an account that usually is on OT at this time of year I have struggled. I figured some of the account was going to India.

yes - hard time making counts

[ In Reply To ..]
Yes I have been having issues making my counts as well, but for me I think it has a lot to do with all the constant changes. The MT instructions for each report and each dr is different and is constantly changing. You literally have to read them before you do each dictation, time consuming there. On top of that, the VR SUCKS. There is never a TL or QC on during my shift anymore, which makes me to have to pend more. There is a list of issues going on and it has me in a position where I have just given up.

I don't know what that means, "pooled together"? - sm

But I'm up to 4 accounts now, and that's sure killing my production, especially since hardly anything ever left on my main account. Every new account is like starting over from scratch in terms of gaining familiarity and speed.

Well, I guess I am not alone. We are all up to 7 accounts in a "pool". Each job is a different facility. Takes me hours and hours to get what I used to get in just a few.

Not familar with a "pool" and begged for a backup - so sick of this

[ In Reply To ..]
I only have 1 account, but keep running out of work and it takes me all day to get my time and lines in. Asked for a backup several times-done asking-yet I see them running ads for help and it sounds like some of you have too many accounts. I think they are trying to push some of us out that have been there a while and have some benefits, which is stupid business considering the time it takes to train someone. I am pretty sure we are being cheated, but proving it is another thing.
My experience - Out the door

It seems like everyone is short on work. I don't know why they keep hiring! I was on several different accounts and was running out of work on a daily basis but was short maybe 5 hours a week or so. My manager then ripped away all of my accounts except for 1 because other MTs were running out of work. Well, I was running out of work too! I really didn't understand that one. She put me on new accounts, but there still was not enough work at all. Some days I was only to work 1 hour due to no work. I asked if I could be switched to another team that actually had work. She switched me to another team with promises of tons of work. I start on the new team and immediately start running out of work again. I had 3 accounts added on this new team, trying to learn them all at once. I still run out of work constantly. I am lucky if I get 2 hours of work a day. Maybe they were trying to push me out? I don't know, but it worked. I was able to find a great job and next week is my last with Nuance. They actually did me a huge favor. They made it so that it wasn't even a choice for me to stay here anymore. I can't pay my bills when I am constantly short on work. I don't understand their strategy. It seems like it would be much more productive and profitable to keep your MTs and treat them well rather than have a constant revolving door and having to spend so much on hiring and training new MTs. Anyway, I hope you are able to find something else and move on from Nuance.
what account was it - anon
[ In Reply To ..]
Only 2 hours, thats below minimum wage. They must have been paying you each week, so I am suprised they didn't put you on a better account. The account I am on has nothing until 11 am, but its consistent after that, for a year and a half now.
Many different accounts - Out the door
[ In Reply To ..]
It was 7 or 8 different accounts that I was on with no work. We have to log out when there is no work, so they weren't paying me anything when there was no work available. I work in the morning but did try to make up my time in the afternoon and there was nothing then either. If I tried to make up my time on Friday evenings, then I would just sit with no work on Saturday when I am scheduled. It is so contradictory because one minute we are told that we can only work our exact schedules or flex time on the weekends and then the next minute they are telling us to flex our schedule to later in the day. I refuse to be chained to my computer desk for the entire day trying to scrape up enough lines here at Nuance because they have chosen to send the bulk of our work to India and also overhire. I don't really don't get it.

Please check with your state's under-employment clause. If you are consistently not able to be fully employed because of out-of-work issues, you possibly qualify for at least some portion of unemployment.

I get in trouble for lines and quality now. sm - slowmt

[ In Reply To ..]
What's the motivation? I get penalized for 3 months if my QA score is less than 99%. Then, if I go too fast, my quality suffers and I get in trouble for that, and if my quality suffers then I don't get a bonus, and if I make my lines, but my QA score is low, I don't get a bonus for another 3 months, but if my quality if good, but I don't make lines because I slowed down to have better quality, I don't get a bonus because I haven't met my lines, but I have to have greater than 99% quality and make my lines in order to get my bonus, but if I don't have greater than 99% on my quality, I get penalized for 3 months even though I make my lines and have good quality during the 3 months I'm penalized so what's my motivation besides the risk of getting canned, which I'd probably be better of anyway because then it would force me to look for another job.

Could not have said - it better myself!

Funny way to conduct a business--demoralize probably the most motivated, perfection oriented people on the planet. I just don't get it. Short-term, maybe they are making out like bandits. Maybe they are not concerned about long-term consequences. . .

Whatever they are doing, it is profitable for - them. We are just SM

[ In Reply To ..]
chess pieces to them, that's all. All this nonsense about 99 percent quality and lines, they make sure we don't get a bonus one way or the other. They profit from this and probably pay the people who come up with this deceptiveness much more than we make. It's really a shame there are no moral people at the top but I guess one of the qualifications is a mindset of profit first, people last.

Do All Companies Have Testing That Takes Hours?

TransTech Lines - Required Hours But Are Short Lines?
Jun 10, 2011

What do you do when you have the required hours but are short lines? I got an email that I need to "make plans to have my shortage made up." The only problem is that I'm up to date with my hours for the pay period so far. The other problem is that I have plans Saturday night and Sunday (both being my scheduled time off) that don't include TransTech. It's getting harder and harder to defend this company when they can't hold up their end of the agreement and continually ...

Anyone Have Post Audits That Is Longer Than 75 Or 100 Lines?
Mar 10, 2015

I have gone back and looked at my post audits and since this new pay plan has gone into place, they have only 1 time edited a job that was over 100 lines (103 lines) all the rest are between 25 and 50 or so lines which I find quite ironic.  They can say random all they want but this is in no way random.  They pick the smaller reports so that even a 0.25 mistake has the biggest impact on us.  Their games are so so petty for a so called company.  They are clearly only out for t ...

Nuance Hours/lines Discrepancy
Nov 30, 2011

There was a post last week on Nuance pay discrepancies. I had a 3 hour discrepancy, didn't think too much of it. I thought maybe I made a mistake. This time it is a 5 hour discrepancy. I know I didn't make a 5 hour mistake on my time punches. My lines are not what they should be either. I am about to find another job. I don't make enough as it is without being shorted. Did anyone else notice this with this last pay period? ...

Told Nuance Was Overcharging For Lines, Now Lines Drastically Reduced
May 02, 2012

My main account was a good one, and the lines were very good, mostly ER work. I have been on this account for over a year and a half now. We recently received an e-mail stating that Nuance had discovered that the line count was charging incorrectly, as instituted by them, and they had been crediting us with MORE lines than we were actually doing and overcharging the client. Now get this, they informed us that they would not make US pay it back, for their mistake, but that our new lines would re ...

TransTech Lines - How Many Lines Do You Average During The Day/week?

How many lines do you average per day - VR and traditional?  I know it's been VERY slow lately, but when things are going well, how many lines do you normally get?
