Wish I was on your account though. Mine runs out of work EVERY single day lately. ANNOYING.

I guess I will find out, because I sent an email telling them it is not my fault that this account is always backed up. It is because they dont pay us anything for 8 hours let alone overtime. If they want to fire me, they can. Would I really be loosing that much? I have worked for 42 years and never been fired from a job, laid off yes, but not due to anything I did. I also have never made minimum wage or close to it. I made more when I babysat as a teen. So I will not be working OT and if they let me go, so be it. I will keep you posted.

My TL asks for "mandatory OT" every weekend. Well, for one, I NEVER INTEND TO WORK OVER ON THE WEEKEND, because you will run out of work during the week (and I am on 4 accounts). My question is how it gets so backed up on the weekend. Only 1 of my accounts is hospital and the other accounts are off on the weekend. Makes no sense.
She sends these mandatory OT emails and I just ignore them. Nothing happened.

Since their new word is mandate, I wondered what would happen if we didn't work. I agree - I did not sign up to work weekends. I don't care how backlogged the work is. Bottom line: HEY NUANCE - PAY US A DECENT WAGE AND YOU'D GET LOYAL CONCERNED EMPLOYEES.
Until then........I'll be at the beach this weekend.

I hate to say this, but I bet they just force employees into quitting so they dont have to pay UE. We shall see.

mandatory OT and she would not say Yes. But really! What are they going to do, fire you, thereby losing your 48 hours plus those 2 hours of OT? I dont think so. Send an email saying it sounds like they are trying to bully you into working OT. I said that, too, and never heard another word.
They can't require it. It's not mandatory. They are full of doody - sm

It varies by states, but for all intents and purposes, OT has to be paid at time and a half. As most of us know, they don't pay us 6 cents to edit work or 12 cents to type work for OT. They figure it out in some idiotic way that makes it not worth the extra time. Those are scare tactics they are using on you. Tell them if they pay you time and a half, you'll be happy to. Otherwise, not worth your time. They know they can't require OT because they don't pay it at time and a half. Scare tactics. I'd report it to Human Resources.

they cannot ask their employees to work a measly 2 hours on a weekend when accounts need to be caught up. This used to be routine when we felt appreciated "back in the day". Respect needs to be earned.

I gladly worked a lot of OT in the past. Back then, wages were decent, friendly people to work for, I WAS APPRECIATED. But now, hey, I only do my 8 hours. Why should we bust our butts for them? Before I even posted this question, I said I'd work 2 hours, but now I am taking that back!! I can only hope they fire me.

every weekend and I never do it. I do my required contract hours and that is it. I refuse to do more. I used to work the OT thinking I could make extra money, only it seems to work out to the exact same pay check each time, not worth wasting my weekend on crappy dictation and stinky QA scores.

I have received those mandatory OT emails every weekend for the past 2 months or so. I never responded back, and I have not heard anything from my TL or anybody else.
