"Mandatory" OT Every Weekend - Lee

Can they really make us do "Mandatory" OT?  It is happening almost every weekend for the last 2 months. Could they fire me for NOT doing it----although, I could only wish.

the ccm gets raises and bonuses based on TAT. If the TAT is not 100%, they dont get their raises and bonuses.

They dont offer us bonuses to do the work, just make it mandatory.

Why don't they move those without work to those needing OT - Probably makes too much sense

So many claim to have NJA constantly, yet there are those who are "offered" mandatory overtime to clean up a huge backlog. I really don't think the suits do anything intelligent in this company. It's just their money cow.

Agree that this company makes no sense but it may also be that some of these accounts are so difficult that not everyone is able to do them and you may not even want to.

Supervisor: Mandatory overtime.

Me: Will I get fired if I don't do it?

Supervisor: It's mandatory.

Me: Will I be fired if I don't?

Supervisor: Everyone has to. It's mandatory.

Me: If I say no, will I be fired?

Just keep it up, and you will wear them down, and that's it. At least that is my experience. Just keep asking if you will get fired if you don't do overtime.

excuse to fire someone. If they did, you'd get UI. This company doesn't let go of people. They don't want to pay unemployment. They just want you to think you will get fired if you don't work that OT. I bet you would never get your CCM to actually SAY you'd get fired, either, it you didn't work OT.

Probably in CCM mind, probably is not an option. But that doesnt - MQ will fire you for no OT. Most CCM will SM

say whatever they think will get more work out of you. It is easy to put in an email "this is not an option". Heck, she could just as easily have said, "Not willing to do OT? Then I will come get your first born child." They both probably have the same amount of oomph behind them (none).

They get bonuses, but not based on their own merit, based on their MTs keeping the work up to TAT. Doesnt matter about quality, only that it is on time.

We do quality work, held to 99%, but no bonus... DOES THIS EVEN MAKE SENSE?
I am not convinced CCM get bonuses based on TAT. For - one thing, I cannot beleive Q will pay SM

Unless they are big fat liars, you are gonna hear they do get a bonus on the TAT. If they hesitate, and walk around the subject, you know whose nose is growing.
They certainly do (or did) - at least a couple years ago

Whether it is still in place currently, I can't tell you. I received an email a couple years ago about moving up to the CCM position (which I declined) part of the job description/benefits was a bonus for keeping QA percentages low and keeping jobs in TAT.
What was the pay for ccm back then? - nm

My CCM has been harping on us voluntarily changing our scheduled to weekend hours, how "it won't hurt a bit" and you may quote me.  I already work every Sunday, but they want me to now work a 6th day, splitting one of my other days where they no longer need me to work, into Friday evening hours.  How am I supposed to do this when I already have a second part-time job on the 2 days I have off?  If they didn't slash my salary by 40%, I wouldn't have to work around the ...

It seems like they set my minimum at too many lines for me to ever achieve it so I don't even try.   BUT did you read the towards the bottom of the email where it says that the payout is Nov 25 EXCEPT for former spheris employees who will get their incentive $$ ON OR BEFORE NOV 5!!??? Is EMR Mandatory?

Perhaps I should know the answer but I do not.  What is the deal with the move to EMR?  Is it government mandated?  I just picked up a good side job transcribing for a cardiology group in my community and it's projected to last only until they go to EMR..the move isn't happening too quickly...are there penalties if they don't move to EMR?  Who is driving this? ...

Anybody enjoying the mandatory overtime.  Yea funny how we are on mandatory overtime and then get an email that states that if you run out of work, you are required to email them and flex your time and can only make it up after 5 p.m.  So again, you are required to check for your work throughout the day and if there is no work, sorry for your luck and if you want to be "lucky" enough to be employed w/ Nuance, you will then have to sign in and work on your off shift to make up your hour ...

Email received said basically,,,time sheet must be approved, make sure you have the required amount of time or PTO will be added to make up missing and you will need to re-approve it..I dont want to take PTO, I didnt run out of work, THEY DID..I put in my remedy ticket release without pay..How do they get away with that? ...
