Ever wonder what is going on with the work?  Lots of it one day, none the next?  You get no answers from anyone on your account?  What are you supposed to do?  I've about had it.

I see many new names on my accounts (6 of them). First they beg for us to work "extra" on the weekend and then there is no work during the week. I've been working on same accounts for years and they never had summer slowdowns like this. Ridiculous. Where's the work?

They have hired so many new people, either there are too many on one account, or they are sending it to India. No wonder we don't get an answer, they don't want to tell us. They just do what they are told I guess....I know I've had it. I can retire the end of the year (if I can last that long). I used to make a decent living.......

because when the day people run out of work they are instructed to flex and come back at night to make up the time. What about us night people, huh?

I don't flex my time if it is over 1 hour. All you do when you flex is take work off the second or third shift. They can't make you flex your time. I refuse to sit around and watch the computer for jobs.

I have no doubt whatsoever that this is the plan. The TSMs and their henchwomen are told to do everything in their power to keep us from making weekly bonus and/or quarterly bonus. Don't get your 40 hours in? That's ok, you can go to part time or progressive part time and then get less PTO and have less chance of a bonus. It's all part of the grand plan to make our lives miserable and treat us with utter disregard. I've about had it, too!

When the day shift is OOW, my TSM actively encourages them to flex. Why is she doing this? This goes against the OOW policy she sent out previously, saying if we were OOW and wanted to make up the time, she would have to okay it. It's just a free-for-all and me being on 2nd and 3rd shift, now I'm OOW. It's just crazy.

So those of us who start early invariably end up with nothing in the morning so have to wait around for the work to come in.

I wish she would at least put limits on the OT. When I go to bed there is heaps of work and most not due for 12-24 hours, yet it is all gone by morning.

Sometimes I think I should just change hours, but then I would probably get a new TSM who changes the whole system and wish I hadn't changed because all the work is back in the morning, and I do better work in the morning.

I don't know who is doing all the OT at night but I can really tell when I am too tired and not doing good work and it becomes counterproductive for me to attempt this.

There is no winning at this.

offshore is taking it in the evening hours. No way to know for sure, but I doubt there are enough people staying up late in the U.S. to push it all through. The shift differential just is not high enough to warrant people doing that. Those who prefer working late likely already have their schedule set for doing it.

Last week everyone from my TSM, AS, received secondary or extra accounts so no one is out of work. You should not be running out of work. I have lots of accounts and never run out of work. Not sure why this is happening to you. And, you can make up your work if you do have OOW on flex time. They were having trouble just last week with people saying OOW and not checking with their TSM to assign them work. I would talk to your TSM. There is plenty of work with Nuance.

But let's admit the fundamental rule of MT - new and different accounts mean low line counts.

The management practice at issue means whoever is doling it out has not done the work themselves, but is just concerned with TAT.

The absolute worst thing any TSM can do for the MT is spread the work thinly over a lot of accounts, thereby making it very difficult to get even the minimum line counts required by Nuance, much less ones decent enough to raise you out of minimum wage.

The absolute best thing any TSM could do for the MT is to make sure the best and loyal ones get plenty of their primary and not let a bunch of others hog in on it, and then force us to go to the secondary/tertiary accounts. They should be for just when the primary runs out, but all too often now my primary is overrun by far too many MTs and there is a heap of work on my other accounts, which is very annoying and hurtful to my income.

Here's an idea, put those new/extra people on those secondary/tertiary accounts as THEIR primaries so they are not hogging the work out of my primary, since I have worked here forever and am an expert on that account. So frustrating.

The TSM only cares about the TAT, in my honest opinion. Just had a discussion about this today.

You are correct in saying that the best thing a TSM can do is look out for the best/loyal people that are never out, only take time off when they have PTO, are willing to go the extra mile, but then that would not be how Nuance operates. They have NO BUSINESS sense whatsoever. Others hog in on my primary in the evening (when it is nowhere near out of TAT) and the TSM doesn't care, as long as the work is done. Sorry, but that is the reality of worklife at Nuance. To say that I hate the way they do business is an understatement and it's just plain dumb as well.

You have to train more people, have more people OOW because of overstaffing, etc. I could go on, but you get the picture.

Way to go morons!

No one answers my emails when I ask why my accounts have no work. I was acquired 1 yr ago.  I had 4 years service with previous company, and was told we brought that with us, so I assume now I have 5 years service, right?  At the time, there was a schedule of PTO hours earned per years of service, I think it was about 3 weeks if you had 5 years.  I do not see that anymore.  Does that mean everyone only earns 4.62 hours of PTO per pay period no matter how long they have been employed? I've run out of work a few times this morning but each time for just less than 15 minutes.  I understand we cannot do a remedy ticket until we are out 15 minutes.  Punching in and out this morning I am now short about 45 minutes and I cannot work past my shift today.  How do I account for those 45 minutes waiting for work?
