as it will be moved to the tech board where it belongs, but it doesn't have email options. I really would like someone to let me email them with a screenshot of the Chartnet I am working on. I have permission from my TL. We are switching over to Chartnet and I just hate it. I have read where everyone loves it but something is different with what I am working on. Early on, someone suggested it was set up in M-Modal version which is not as user friendly, but all our accounts are straight typing. There is no way to pull in all the normals I have created in Shorthand because you have to hit Clt + N for every header - and this is SO time consuming. There is also no way to see a line count for "each" job. Just lumps it all together as - 4 jobs 79.23 lines. So there is NO way to compare the line count in MSWord. Someone that is really familiar with Chartnet...please, please email me so that I can sent you a screenshot to compare with what you are working on. Many thanks.

I don't use Chartnet, but we do use M-Modal for some accounts and have to use the Ctrl + N for headers. Why don't you just add this to your SH normals? You can also change your SH entries for headings to do the Ctrl + N. For headings that are usually followed by numbers (i.e., medications, assessment, etc.), I have entries that create the heading and then do the key combo for for numbering. It saves time from having to hit the numbering key combo right after getting the heading in there. Hope that will help some.

You would use {@KEY ctrl+n} before the heading in your normal. You could use the {@KEY} and whatever the shortcut was for the subheadings as well. If you look in the Shorthand help under "how to simulate keyboard commands" it explains it a bit more. Good luck.

Another way, also, is to tell SH to record your keystrokes - (hit "record" on the entry screen,

then do what you do to create headers. You can also just do the first one, then copy it for other headers, changing the letters it will type out for you (assessment, plan, ESL, etc).

I haven't added numbering to mine, but I did make an entry that turns that function on and off by toggling "oo." Very fast and easy from home position. All my headers start with "V," so a PE header comes up when I type "vpe" and the positions the cursor where I will be typing next.

BTW, I, and I'm sure Webber, have made similar fast commands for all the repetitive functions. I like mine right in the middle of the keyboard for speed. Enjoy. You're about to get even faster. :)
