Question since I can't get a straight answer..sm - broke

I've run out of work a few times this morning but each time for just less than 15 minutes. I understand we cannot do a remedy ticket until we are out 15 minutes. Punching in and out this morning I am now short about 45 minutes and I cannot work past my shift today. How do I account for those 45 minutes waiting for work? I just wish I would hit 15 minutes already and let the aggravation end.

Exactly what you did here and have him/her enter it as as excused absence no pay, or work availability or something.

Having said that, I feel that you should be paid at minimum wage in your state as their interpretation of the policy is waiting the full 15 minutes and therefore you were waiting for work and must be paid for that time. They used to let us add up those minutes, and they can't force us to sit there without pay.

But yet they try their best to "gouge" us in any way they can. Love corporate America? I think not. Wondering what is in store for us in the future. It's like waiting for a Christmas present and then when opening it finding it is not at all something that you wanted and/or like.

According to the current policy you have to be out 15 minutes in a row before you can be released. For most people that means 15 minutes of their state's minimum wage. Not even $2. I have a feeling a labor law attorney might take them to task over this engaged to wait nonsense especially when it ends up being every day and we are being forced to take PTO or make up hours only when the TSM deems it appropriate. Perhaps Shaw would be wise to revise the policy or provide work rather than spending his time forwarding tips. Who needs tips when you have no work?
