My TL just quit suddenly! Just when you think it cannot get any worse! - Now what?

I got an email Friday stating my TL was leaving (DH) old OSi. We have a contact person until a new TL is assigned. I have been waiting for a new/big account now for ever and I am guessing that must have fell through again. They are just jacking me around. I am on unemployment for being underemployed now. That helps some but will the work ever arrive? My TL was always understanding and I think she was having the same problems all of us MTs are having with the accounts having low work and SR.

Left in the dark again, thinking the new account was coming Monday???? maybe never?????? Where do we get help from these awful NASDAQ companies???

I am so sick of worrying what tomorrow brings...............................

I had the same TL. I really liked her. She promised a large acute care account a month ago. In fact, I had sent my resignation letter, and she immediately called back and promised me an account that would not be sent overseas as soon as I mastered it. I really don't know what is going to happen now. The 2 accounts I am on now are going to disappear at any time. Of course, I won't know until the day they disappear and then no work until I keep asking.

We have to work 4 to 5 hospitals now to get enough lines...and then sometimes still use PTO to get a full check!!

They are not really Transcend accounts anymore are they? I - believe they belong to Nuance now.

So you think you are walking in tall cotton now getting all the good accounts from Transcend but eventually the really talented people at Transcend will move on to greener pastures and you will be getting the dregs, just like the Transcenders are now. What goes around, comes around. Sometimes sooner, sometimes later, but it always comes back around.

Just so you folks know ... I don't think you'll have any control over things. During the interview and my choosing the schedule of choice that the recruiter told me words to the effect of "That's what the Transcend account has available."

This is not meant to be an offensive post, just a reality check.

Please, do not think you Transcenders are anything special or will be treated differently. I held that same dream for a few months when Webmedx was bought out. The name, T, will soon cease to exist if it goes the same way it did for W. W was touted as "first in KLAS", so don't think you all are special. We all work for the N now. Our accounts belong to N. No special treatment. Just cogs in a huge wheel. I do like some aspects of N, but there is much not to like. Still working the same accounts, but at least one of our beloved managers suddenly disappeared. Enjoy the honeymoon while you can.

There is nothing wrong with being proud that you worked for the best company there was (after WMX bit the dust). There are many good reasons why we love/loved working for Transcend. I only expect the worst as time goes on with Nuance. But, yes, we are special to have been employed by this formerly great company and having been part of a quality, humanistic organization.

They gave us this 3-ring circus of how GREAT it was gonna be with this "acquisition" and how things were going to stay the same, and what a great day it was for the transcription world. Bull-loney. Transcend was NOT special, you and me were NOT special to them, so get over yourself. They took their money that they made off our OUR backs and ran as quick as they could to the bank with it. Has anyone noticed that fairly suddenly ASR recognition has gotten much worse. I can't win for losing with these new QA folks. Never had a problem before and now I cannot type a report correctly. Whereas I've typed for the same doctors for 11 years, they don't know the accounts, but I'm wrong in everything. We get a letter from MQ extolling our virtues as MTs, more and more info about nationalizing the EMR with Verizon, etc. and I notice I'm not the only one getting less ASR, more direct typing. Does anyone else have the account ..... Switched to yet another superviser after having the same one for years, got another one for a month, now another one. wasn't capping before? WTH? Is this just another sneaky way to catch us on medication errors, which happen to be nice 3-points-off errors that I am sure they love? the work skyrockets overnight like nothing we have had in at least 2 months or more. I had to ask why all of a sudden did the workload go up so high? I found my answer-earthquake hit India yesterday/last night so my guess is many of the MTs over there can't work. This company gets "better" all the time. It was about the client wasn't happy and the account was at risk, and yet, it showed every day for the week the percent quality score was above minimum. Some "critical" errors, but I'll bet they were mostly not following the client profile. Earlier there was an email stating that the client (a different one) wasn't happy and we were at risk of losing that account. Had to do with selecting the encounters correctly. Gee.... This happens every time they start throwing everyon ...

I thought this ASR crap was supposed to get better as it "learns" the doctors and their frequently-used phrases... didn't someone say that back in training? I'm talking about DSG in particular, but I know a lot of people use DQS ASR, so please bear with me. So, how come it now can't seem to get a single sentence without major corrections having to be done? I'm about ready to apply at McDonald's if this keeps up... my pay is about 1/3 of what it was when we did straight ...

I was terminated for reasons I won't go into here--after 9+ years at my last employer. Thing is--I was looking anyway and informed potential employers that the company just was "no longer a good fit." What finally tipped the balance was an e-mail we got a few months ago stating that after an MT had sent a certain percentage of reports to editing for comprehension issues, for instance, they would be penalized 0.03 cpl for doing so! Assuming this is legal, IMO, it's immoral ...
