Why am I suddenly a scum MT? sm - PondScumMT

What happened? Prior to my company being bought out by N a couple years ago, I was constantly getting bonuses, almost every pay period without fail. Great reviews...always passed them. Suddenly, I'm pond scum. This has ratcheted up the last couple months. This constant nitpicking is getting to me. I don't even want to check my emails anymore. What happened to me? Still working same accounts I love and a decent TSM. I'm not even talking about the monetary loss. Just the loss to my ego. This company sure knows how to tear a person down.

.. about how I am going to be made to feel like a POS and so bad about myself by these QA/QC/FIESA folks. Psh! Good luck with that, lol. While I'm sure that the nitpicking absolutely happens and will happen to me as well, no complete stranger critiquing my work is going to make me feel bad about myself. If they want to ding me half a point for forgetting "a" in a sentence or some other nonsense, have at it biatches. >;0) I'm happy with my accounts and my TSM and even my new schedule. If I was ever truly miserable in all aspects of my job, I would quit in a heartbeat and find some place else to work.

bad about myself or my skills. There has been some feedback I've learned from, usually given by the same person, but all the nitpicky ones I just ignore. They know I looked at it and I get on with my life.

I'm glad you don't take it personally. As a QCE I am required to do FIESA on reports, and my feedback is double checked, so if I don't mark an error it is marked as an error against me.

Even the highest self-esteem can be whittled - down by constant negativity.

Little wonder so many MTs suffer from severe depression. It's hard to feel optimistic, or any self-worth at all, when all you hear day in and day out is what a loser you are because you can't meet some pencil-pusher's idea of what a robot-MT should be able to produce.

They can bombard me with negativity all day and all night, I really don't care. I know my worth and frankly, if it was so bad I'd be on a performance plan or be on the verge of losing my job.

Even if I lost this job, I'll just get another job. It's only work. My life outside of MT is where my perception of myself and my worth comes from. Negative feedback from a bad company means nothing to me.

I also think it's much easier to take any nitpicking when I'm simply reading it on my computer screen. I admit that if I were face-to-face with a boss/manager who was negative and nitpicking about petty crap all the time it would be an awkward and uncomfortable situation... although it still wouldn't crumble my self-worth. It's really not so bad reading some QA report corrections sitting here in the comfort and privacy of my own home. I can roll my eyes and call people dumbasses to my heart's content. It's great.

a lot more than the usual 40-hour week, in addition to mandatory weekend days or late shifts, we don't need the added useless stressor of NIT-PICKING. Honest correction or critique is one thing, but being made to think every single day that the next comma we type (or omit) may be the very last "mistake" we ever make for that company because we'll be terminated if we make it, is over the top and way out of line. Especially when you add in the cr*ppy pay we're getting. All of that abuse is cumulative, and over time takes a huge toll on our psyches and our physical well-being. It's just cruel.

I don't mind being told I'm wrong if I'm actually wrong. But continually having reports that were correct come back with added-in, made-up "mistakes" is not acceptable.

Nothing wrong with you, it's the ones paying large amounts of money to get more from us, to make us feel unworthy so we will take the cuts and all the other things they feel appropriate. IMHO this new scale they have coming out is going to finish it, double jeopardy. Seems to me if we are already being tried (I feel like I am always defending myself) on the report once, now it has to pass yet another set of "rules." How many more new things are they going to put out there? Why not just take the danged so called bonus away and get it over with? This place is the lowest of low. There is no such thing as moral or morals at this place IMHO!

I've even had a mistake I supposedly made in - the previous year, that I ALREADY -sm

got written up for, get pulled out the following year and RE-USED as a reason to lower my overall QA score. I guess the rules of double jeopardy that we have in our court system don't apply to these engorged leeches.

Has anyone noticed that fairly suddenly ASR recognition has gotten much worse. I know it was pretty bad before, but now I've noticed that even with the clear dictators where in the past the ASR recognition was okay, it's now HORRIBLE. Weren't we promised the ASR would get BETTER with time. Didn't they LOWER our pay when they said it got better before. So, wouldn't it only be fair to move the pay back UP now that it is so horriible and NOT improvin ...

I can't win for losing with these new QA folks. Never had a problem before and now I cannot type a report correctly. Whereas I've typed for the same doctors for 11 years, they don't know the accounts, but I'm wrong in everything. They have changed the format of the reports, even when the doctor clearly says "could you not put...such and such" and I get messages telling me I'm not folling directions and can I not understand how to do it properly. Hmm, let's see. We get a letter from MQ extolling our virtues as MTs, more and more info about nationalizing the EMR with Verizon, etc. and I notice I'm not the only one getting less ASR, more direct typing. Could be a coincidence, but could be MQ is gathering statistics on us, how the voice recognition program of MQ compares with our production as MTs versus straight typing on our own. I got an email Friday stating my TL was leaving (DH) old OSi. We have a contact person until a new TL is assigned. I have been waiting for a new/big account now for ever and I am guessing that must have fell through again. They are just jacking me around. I am on unemployment for being underemployed now. Does anyone else have the account ..... Switched to yet another superviser after having the same one for years, got another one for a month, now another one. wasn't capping before? WTH? Is this just another sneaky way to catch us on medication errors, which happen to be nice 3-points-off errors that I am sure they love? Question for those of you who have been lucky enough to have had work through all of this time. Is your account suddenly drying up? Mine is. I am quite sure they are taking it and giving it to the people with no work. So now we can all sit around and have NOTHING to type. the work skyrockets overnight like nothing we have had in at least 2 months or more. I had to ask why all of a sudden did the workload go up so high? I found my answer-earthquake hit India yesterday/last night so my guess is many of the MTs over there can't work. This company gets "better" all the time. It was about the client wasn't happy and the account was at risk, and yet, it showed every day for the week the percent quality score was above minimum. Some "critical" errors, but I'll bet they were mostly not following the client profile. Earlier there was an email stating that the client (a different one) wasn't happy and we were at risk of losing that account. Had to do with selecting the encounters correctly. Gee.... This happens every time they start throwing everyon ...
