The money I have lost recently arises rom very poor ESL dictators, too many of them. Did you know 28% of US doctors were not born in US and many arrived on J-1 visas under the Conrad 30 program? They are looking to expand IMGs (international medical graduates) quite significantly under Obamacare. Of course, I know non ESL can be awful, too, but think about who your worst dictators are and then consider the outlook: much higher percentage of IMGs coupled with foreign born patients who with the IMGs are ripping off our health care system.

(and this isn't for all ESL, but the majority):
1. VR doesn't do nearly as well capturing what they say, so have to fix much more, hence money loss.
2. You have to rewind more often and relisten more to understand what they say, hence money lost.
3. Greedy companies won't give a differential anymore for difficult dictators, hence money loss.
4. More likely to miss an error in the VR, get penalized from greedy companies, hence money lost.
5. Easier to get important values wrong...they can't pronounce numbers as clearly, their 2's often sound like 3's, hence money lost when you get a CPSE for that.

I find a few of the American speakers even more difficult than the ESL speakers. In particular, it seems majority of orthopedic surgery dictators seem to fail to enunciate--maybe because they do the same surgeries all the time and they just say it really, really fast because they repeat themselves so much. I find some of these orthopedic dictations impossible to understand if not for the fact that there are previous reports to look up.

For some reason lately I have noticed that the ESL dictators seem to be trying their hardest to speak clearly and it's the non-ESLs who are horrid!! I have this NP that I type for often, and she speaks clear as day, but she will just begin mumbling and not even attempting to speak clearly enough to understand. I have many American doctors who do the same. It is starting to aggravate me to the point that I wish someone could just send the report back full of blanks and ask ...

I am thinking of buying the CMT Prep Quiz CD Bundle from AHDI. but, I want to make sure it is completely current with the third edition of the BOS. Has anyone bought these and what did you think? Where they helpful in taking the CMT exam? I notice there is an RMT Blueprint available, but sold out. So, wondering if I should just wait for the RMT and CMT Blueprints to come out??? I seem to be spending an awful lot of time in VR documents, so I am confused as to why I am getting paid less for them. This stupid VR system types whatever it thinks it might be hearing and sometimes doesn't type anything at all. I hate this VR. I've been working with this company for over 90 days. The first 90 days was a paid internship. Paid hourly, minimum wage. I am now a full time employee...paid on production. Didn't MQ make the CTL's become MME's? If that happens to the MT's and you reject it, I assume you will be fired and if so, can you still collect unemployment? What if you they point blank and say, you have to become an MME or you will have look elsewhere.
