Bonus/Incentive - New to Nuance

I can't seem to get a clear answer about this. So, the incentive, I know it's if you've got less than 10% going to QC, have a qualifying QA score, and starts with 7001 lines for the week, but how is it paid out. Do you get the extra $0.0025 on lines 7001-8000, then $0.005 on lines 8000-9000?

So, if I had 8500 lines. Assuming I was at 4 CPL for edit, (assuming it's all edit) at base rate I'd get $340. I would qualify for the bonus/incentive at the 7001 lines... so 8500 subtract 7001 (1499 lines). So, do I get $0.005 for all 1499 lines or do I get $0.0025 for lines 1-999 and then $0.005 for lines 1000-1499?

So confused, and my manager was absolutely NO help!

Please only answer if you know, I don't need a whole thread about why I'll never see it, how I should find a new job, etc. This is what I've got and where I'm at. There are other threads for that.

you're thinking you only get paid the incentive bonus for the lines OVER the 7001 (which is where the incentive for acute care starts). BUT, you're actually paid for the total lines. So say you get the accuracy score right and don't send more than 10% to QC, and you transcribe/edit 7500 lines, then those 7500 lines are paid at 0.0025 per line for ALL of the lines, not just what you exceeded. If you make more than 8001 lines, then ALL of the lines are bumoped up and paid at 0.005 per line and so on.. Does that make sense? LOL Sometimes, I confuse myself!

This is what I was hoping for, but my manager was trying to explain it and made it much more complicated.

then you're not even eligible for the quarterly bonus! Only the incentive. I have no idea why, but I sure would like to know. Obviously, I do Rad.

So, is there both an incentive and a bonus? I had been told early on that there were 2 things, but all I can figure out is the incentive, or the thing tied to your lines. That's weekly, have to have 99% or better from the past quarter, and less than 10% for that week to QC, right?

Is there something in addition to this?

So far this quarter, I have actually made it 3 times. I will NEVER be eligible for the quarterly bonus because QA takes my reports apart in FIESA on a regular basis for the most insignificant crap imaginable. But I don't have to send a lot of stuff to QC, and my accuracy score last quarter was actually halfway decent probably only because I wasn't post-audited for the last 2 weeks of the quarter.

It is possible to get the incentive bonus, but it's not easy (at least not for me). A lot of things determine how many lines I will have at the end of the week, like any kind of internet connection problems or very slow work on particular days and/or not having enough work during that week to make up time missed for ANYTHING (whether it's through my fault or because of some other problem like low work volumes). It's not impossible to make the incentive, but I never count on it. If I make it, then great. If I don't make it, then great.

For me, I have never made more than $20 to $40 extra in a week with the bonus, so I just don't count on it. I clock in, do my work, and clock out. I try my best to meet the lph requirements and not let FIESA and QA get to me. That's an accomplishment in itself these days!

I know there was a training video regarding what the incentive as well as bonus qualifications at Nuance, but I never understood it. Some of you seem to be complaining of Nuance using underhanded tactics to avoid rewarding any bonus or incentive, which is probably a major reason why you complain of being "mistreated." I know it was just asked how they figure out their bonus, but I am concerned because I found recent posts that say the lines are "weighted", and their own ad says "quality based" incentive program. Another poster alluded to comma nuts that QA you to death so that you end up with little to no available lines for incentive. I have been with Nuance for 4-1/2 months. This is my first experience with VR but I have 25+ years experience as a MT. I have always had QAs 98% and up. Whatever that QT thing is, my scores are horrible. Yes, now and then I have a report that blows. The majority of my work I have no problem with dictators, etc. WTH is going on? The way it looks to me, they give me a target to hit over 4 days, which (I don't need the particulars of how they arrived at it, but I get them anyway) pretty much reflects my daily average. Okay so now I work all day today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, making my average each day and THEN, at the end of Monday, if I'm able to get in another 100 lines, I will get 3 cents for those 100 lines??? Below under the incentive topic it was mentioned that the incentive will not be paid until Jan 10th... but on the email at the very end it states "The incentive payout for this program will be paid no later than January 10, 2010." I work in-house doing radiology transcription, mostly VR. The pay is hourly and there is no overtime on our job but there is also no incentive. I'm trying to cut my expenses to have extra money but its tough. I would like to work an extra few hours to save for vacation/a better running car/other purchases.
