incentive... what's that? - not getting any here

Whenever we are asked to help, there is no incentive offered. I never thought of it at all, until I started reading some random posts below about getting incentive. Hmmm I always let them know I am happy to help, was that dumb of me to say that? Did I screw myself out of ever getting an incentive? or maybe not all companies offer it to begin with. oh well.

My MTSO offers them if the account has a large volume of work on it and is danger of going out of TAT. They also offer daily bonuses based on line production. Neither sound like a lot taken on its own but, at the end of the pay period, can make a substantial difference on the paycheck.

If youâ��re an IC--MTSO may or may not offer incentive. A lot of MTSOs look at increased production (by working more) as incentive enough--want more money work more--of course cannot do it if work is not there. Others offer it and sometimes it can make a difference in pay or be totally out of reach because requirements are so high and workload isn't there.

Where I am (an employee) incentive kicks in (when it is offered) over 1000 lines and they call it OVERTIME. Very deceptive, done for tax purposes I am sure. These were changes made in 2010. It used to be incentive was offered on weekends if TAT was crazy with no minimum line requirement, so you could at least make some extra money on the weekends, but now if incentive offered on weekends, must meet 1000 minimum requirement for each weekend day worked first--and they don't mention what you do if youâ��re a M-F person and already worked 40 hours, but MTs just go along with it and jump on and help, another thing we have accepted as the way of MTSOs, another way they take advantage and break the law.

I don't help out--ever.

We are on a tiered system with 0.05 cpl additional - sm

after you make minimum and it increases 0.05 cpl for every 2000 lines after that up to a specific amount; also an incentive to work weekends with a minimum line count.

Same system. Adds up to real money for consistently - higher producers. NM

The way it looks to me, they give me a target to hit over 4 days, which (I don't need the particulars of how they arrived at it, but I get them anyway) pretty much reflects my daily average. Okay so now I work all day today, tomorrow, Sunday and Monday, making my average each day and THEN, at the end of Monday, if I'm able to get in another 100 lines, I will get 3 cents for those 100 lines??? Just like they did last year and I think the year before that. They will have pretty much an incentive every week to get the backlog all pristine, whether or not there is a lot of work. I've put in an application for an SR job at a company but just found out they don't offer an incentive for SR work. Is that the norm or not? Below under the incentive topic it was mentioned that the incentive will not be paid until Jan 10th... but on the email at the very end it states "The incentive payout for this program will be paid no later than January 10, 2010." I'm unsure if my math is correct, but this is what I got. I average about 300 lines an hour for my 8-hour shift. In order to reach the cap over the 4 days, I would need to type 16,666 lines above my normal line count. That would be 4167 lines extra a day. In my case, at 300 lph, that would be almost 14 more hours I would have to work daily on top of my normal 8. I suppose 1 hour to sleep and 1 hour for eating and potty breaks a day is all I need, right?& ...

The usual unreachable goal they give me for these incentives is 8882 lines over a 4-day weekend, and now they want 16,499 lines before they will pay me 5 cents a line above and beyond? I hope that is a typo, or someone is truly insane. Of course, I never go for the incentives anyway since they are always out of reach, but I do take advantage of the ability to work some overtime. I wonder when they will realize that uping the line rate is not going to work to get more work done ...

I am wanting to submit a proposal to my company owner about implementing an incentive-based pay scale to help with some issues we are having with people not working consistently and to reward those who are putting in overtime, etc. I am having a hard time finding any information on this as far as like a sample scale.
