Seriously? Why would I plan on getting credentialed in an almost dead field.

Plus, wants to know if I will be attending the ADHI convention. - ROFL

they don't have your name, email address, employee number AND whether or not you are certified, going to be certified, going to AHDI, etc. If they had all that information they wouldn't be asking in a survey. DUH!!! Suspicions are truly warranted for some of us. If you are not certified or planning on becoming certified maybe they will fire you. If you are certified maybe you'll get a raise (yeh right). If you are planning on becoming certified maybe they'll help pay or pay extra when you are (again, yeh right). So yeh, I'd say suspicious definitely!

I was hired in 2002 for Medquist, certified for over 10 years. Was told certification didn't matter we were all paid the same. That kinda pisses me off if I was told a lie. Of course, that's what MM is all about anymore.

Hired in 2003, was making a little over 12 when they cut all our pay back. n/m - mmmt

There is a cap so if you're already making max pay then getting certified won't increase your pay.

They want to find out how many certified MTs they can use for marketing bragging. - puffery

Just like when they did a survey asking how many years experience you have transcribing.

It is for marketing purposes.

They also want something in writing to back up claims.

As far as whether or not you are going to the convention, they are hoping they will have MTs to show off at their booth without paying for one.

They should give money towards ADHI certification then - just saying

Most companies reimburse for education. If this company is serious then let them give me an incentive. Pay for it. Amphion gives $300 to use towards certification and/or keeping certified.

It is not a big deal to me whether I am ADHI certified or not because I don't think it is worth the paper it is written on. But if Mmodal thinks it is a big deal then pay for it. Otherwise I will use my money wisely and pay for a real education instead.

Medquist used to offer a discount on books and the CMT or RMT exam plus prep books. No continuing education though once you got your little piece of paper. You were on your own to figure how to maintain certification.

Mmodal does not pay anything towards continuing education. I am sure the suits though have tuition reimbursement.

I see that Career Step, M-Tec, and Omniscribe offer prep courses, but I don't want to waste time and money on these if they will not adequately prepare me for the exam. ...

I was thinking... mandatory CMT credentialing might not be a bad thing. I'd have no problem passing that exam, but would the Indian MTs? If CMT were a requirement for ANY MT transcribing/editing US-based medical dictation, I think we'd lose our Indian partners pretty quickly. If AHDI could ("would" is probably more appropriate) make this happen, I'd gleefully pay CMT dues and attend all the seminars, etc. ...

AHDI is seeking public comments on proposed changes to its model curriculum. One of those changes is a requirement that ONLY CMTs be allowed to work as Instructors at AHDI approved schools. I am just looking for some opinions on whether it's worth it to keep the RMT credential. My 3 years are up and I got a letter from AHDI saying in order to keep it, I need to take a course (which costs $100) and complete it before my credential expires. In order to meet that deadline, I have to sign up for the test by the end of this month so I can take it in October, which is also the month it expires. This month is the absolute worst month ever to try to come up with an extra $100! ...

For example, when they ask if compensation encourages people to do their best, the obvious answer is "strongly disagree" right? Before the new pay rule game, I made 7.5 cents (3.75 cents for editing). Then when this new pay game started, I made less at 7 cents. However, I find lately I've been actually making noticeably more money with this pay game. You just got to keep quality and pending to QC under control. Every time MQ sends out a survey they use it to justify a pay cut or cesspool or other "great" ideas. They twist the results of the survey to fit their agenda and then say- see the MTs agree that ASR is better or they are sick of running out of work. JMHO but I am not filling it out so they can use my answers to make my job worse than it already is. ...
