...they probably realize that it's completely anonymous.  So watching us all agonize over the current situation when just ONE of them could easily come on using a pseudonym and give us some idea about what is going on or give some insight as to how the decisions are being made ... if there is something we can do at this point to help us get on firm ground (or, have the decisions already been made?) would help some of us sleep at night. 

IMO, just sitting back and watching us struggle and seeing some of us scared to death of losing our jobs when they can easily and anonymously give some insight is just plain cruel.  I wouldn't be able to sleep at night, knowing I could help but just decided not to.

If there is an *anonymous way* for them to bring peace to even one person on this board by saying "you might be at risk if ________" but decide not to do it, that's cruelty.

There are people on this board who are single moms, close to retirement, taking care of sick parents, etc who desperately NEED this job and if they had one *anonymous* clue given by a TSM about how to save their job it could be a good deed that could never be repaid.

As I said, if I was in a position to help someone in a meaningful way and decided not to, I wouldn't be able sleep at night.

I dont believe there is ANY way to "save their job" - other than maybe move to India.

If they are laying off high producers with very accurate quality audits, then it seems to me that all bets are off. The best thing would be to make plans for a new job, IMHO

I guess I'm just looking for answers ... I'd love to know how they decide who stays at the end. There HAS to be a demographic they want to end up with in that final 20% of domestic employee.
I wonder if it's by state, keeping those in - lowest minimum wage states (NM)

You or another TSM came here to give information about what's happening, and someone called you/them a liar and a troll? I'm not sure what that's about but if you have valuable information that could help me save my job or some insight into what's happening at MM I for one would like to know and you have my word that *I* won't call you a liar or troll.

I think you're right about what the poster meant. If that's true then I sure am sorry that happened.

Although, I'm almost feeling weird about saying this out loud, but I wonder if it wouldn't be better just to *know*. The ones who were let go have had time to let it sink in (somewhat) and may have had a chance to formulate a plan, apply for UE, check into school, food stamps, etc but the rest of us are just ... in limbo. I really, really hate it.

She manages more global employees than she does domestic ones (hundreds of them) so I'm not sure TSM jobs are in jeopardy any time soon.

I would think if they wanted to trim a LOT of fat, they would hire offshore TSMs for a huge amount less than the domestic TSMs.

They are just as in the dark as we are..This is now an Indian owned company? as some have stated. Common sense says they will employ their own as much as possible. So enjoy training ASR, we are training our replacements.

My TSM before I left sounded clueless about the whole NJA situation in other regions & struck me as a very genuine, decent person overall. But really, they have come right out & told us their plans to have the workforce be 80% (something like that) overseas in the not so distant future.

This is way past an MM thing. This is a J.P. Morgan Chase thing. This is what they do; buy companies, restructure, and make them as profitable as they can (for themselves). I knew this was coming as soon as I learned who bought us out. They don't care about employees, reputations of the company, NOTHING, just the bottom line. It's just the type of business it is, pure and simple.

a bunch of crap from transcriptionists that are blindly following this company. Not that it is any better anywhere else. Becuase now that this company is laying off the field is saturated with transcriptionists trying to work in the US based companies, which are slowly being bought out. The writing is on the wall, time to retrain, and find something else to do.

Sorry for anyone losing their job, but fair is fair.  They have taken from the MTs until we are scraping the scum off the bottom of the barrell.  If this company so badly needs to shave costs, let them do so at the expense of other job categories rather than all MTs.  Most companies tend to be management heavy and reductions on that level, whether it be jobs or cutting benefits, reductions in wages, etc. let it happen.  They can't take any more from us.  We all wor ...

As more and more MTs lose their jobs to offshoring, I don't think the TSMs are realizing that they are becoming expendable quickly too - No US MTs mean no US supervisors. The hospitals and clinics will have to talk to India to complain about their reports, dial 1 for English (sort of) and then hold for the next available representative for the next 20 minutes. told to clock in at beginning when scheduled.  If no work, clock out.  Then it states to check back EVERY 30 minutes.  If there is work clock in and begin working.  When there are no more jobs clock out.  Keep doing this until end of shift.  Isn't this requiring us to be available for 8 hours but unpaid (most likely)?  Doesn't this even go against MModal's current policy on no work available?   ...

we're told internet outage is not acceptable reason not to work and to find alternative such as WiFi, etc. in a not so nice tone.  Now we're told this is NOT acceptable (use of WiFi) as according to company policy.  Make up your mind will ya?  This TSM deserves a critical error deduction for misinformation (and the attitude).   Shouldn't they be required to know company policy before taking on their position?  ...

What's Up With This Ad On Another Board For OB

You see it periodically, OB, radiology, and something else but it's pretty clear the work will be OB.  The test consists of 3 files (getting this from the ad) and you should finish it in less than 2 hours.  3 files?  How long are the files?  So, my real question is (the other two were thiinking out loud), does this ad get run periodically to clear out the backlog or is it really a legit job and why does it come up so often?  It's not the exact same ad everytime ...
