Well, I found out today that some former TSMs were let go. I thought I'd feel better about one. I thought I'd giggle and be happy someone stuck it to her for once. But then I thought...huh, I don't. I really don't. Because regardless of how I personally felt about her, she got the job done, and without so much as a blink, she is without insurance or income. The other? She was a gem. She was knowledgeable and hard working, and she was a darn good TSM to work for. And there were others, and I'm just left with this sorrowful feeling. I don't even think they were offered another position in the company, even a MLS, and there were two, count 'em, two ads today advertising for positions.
It really doesn't matter if you do everything right. You can work hard, be spot on, and to them, you are still of so little value that it doesn't matter if you are a good employee. Now don't get me wrong. I don't have any false illusions that they appreciate any of us, but one would think, if someone is doing their job, doesn't it make sense to hang on to those first?
I don't understand this "logic." How is any of this good for business? How does it promote quality for the clients?
Feeling sick to my stomach at all the pain and suffering this company is causing so many people. So sad and frustrating.

This company is not a good fit for ANYONE. It takes advantage of those of us who cannot, for one reason or another, seem to get out of this business. You will see many of your co-workers on food stamps or other gov't assistance (I don't begrudge them, I blame Nuance for being so cheap). If I could find a job outside MT I would take it and quit immediately.
I'm here because I'm stuck, like many of us. Always keep your eye out for a non-MT opportunity. Take it when it's offered. Run and don't look back.

Very frustrating and stressful to say the least. I'm so worn out, and it's physically taking a toll. Just hoping some doors open soon, and wouldn't it be great if many did, and we went out in mass?!

I've "worked" just about every holiday, and every time I'm told I have to keep checking back, keep checking back, keep checking back when we've run out of work (even though our new policy says otherwise). Sorry for anyone losing their job, but fair is fair. They have taken from the MTs until we are scraping the scum off the bottom of the barrell. If this company so badly needs to shave costs, let them do so at the expense of other job categories rather than all MTs. As more and more MTs lose their jobs to offshoring, I don't think the TSMs are realizing that they are becoming expendable quickly too - No US MTs mean no US supervisors. The hospitals and clinics will have to talk to India to complain about their reports, dial 1 for English (sort of) and then hold for the next available representative for the next 20 minutes.
