It must be just me. My CTL just informed me that she wasn't aware that our e-mail was so slow. It takes me almost 10 minutes just to read my first e-mail of the day. She wants us to check our e-mail three times daily. That would be 30 minutes of my own "free time." Personally, I prefer not to waste my transcription time as it counts against me when I do in my average hourly PTO which is fast dwindling to minimum wage (used to be $18/h). Now I read on this board about the Demographics taking its good ol' time downloading since our "new and improved" DQS update. It must all be in my head. MQ e-mail has been slow ever since they started it years ago. Does anyone disagree with this? It was suggested that I open a ticket for this. I'm not going to bother as they won't prioritize my problem with speed on this computer and send me a new one. I also run weekly full-system McAfee scans to clean up cookies or other threats and defragment on a regular basis, as well as use my own PC during my time off, so nothing else goes on this computer. It makes me wonder that during the times when my computer slows down so much if they've gone and invented a way to spy on us. Again, IMO.

MQ email is very slow for me as well - as the demographics.

Especially when doing a search for ADT. It often hangs up and/or freezes.

I use my own PC for work, not one from MQ.

Thanks for responding. Maybe the system only works faster for the other half, i.e., not us blue-collar workers.

I would say that 10 minutes to check your e-mail is about right. Saturday it took me 25 minutes to read the 2 e-mails that were in my inbox, delete 4 old e-mails and empty my sent and trash folders.

I have never had anything on a computer take that long.

I have an account where the doctors never enter demographics. I'm spending 5 minutes on each report filling in demographics and cc's from doctors who only slur a last name. Many partial doctor names need to be Googled. If I do about 36 reports a day at 5 minutes each with demographic research then I'm spending 3 hours of my shift working for nothing! How is it for the rest of you? ...

I signed up for college this fall to get a HIT degree and hopefully get out of transcription. Seems I spend so much time looking up incorrect demographics, patient account numbers, etc., due to dictors entering the wrong information, and with the company I work for, it counts against us, YET we dont get paid to lookup demographics and fix errors, but its our responsbility. I am finding this so frustrating and spending 9 hours a day to make barely 90 bucks. ...

Not that I really WANT to hear from the Q, but am I the only one who does not have e-mail still? I can log into MQ Central fine, click the "my community" button, and the regular e-mail page does come up but with only four boxes at the top (no e-mail list). Doubt he will even read it but if he does, it was nice knowing all of you. I did not use any bad language, but I did speak my mind. I cannot access my web e-mail. I believe there was an upgrade happening this week (thought today). Now they want user name and password. from a supervisor with a typo or a word spelled incorrectly or misuse of a word. I want so much to send a reply stating "Failed audit!" And where does the doctor's responsibility come in? I can't believe how poor some of their grammar is and how they mix up genders throughout the report. It's unbelievable how much we have to correct to make them look good. And how many times do they mix their singular and plural tenses? I just wonder how many reports from any given transcriptionis ...
