CEO E-Mail

See MQ e-mail. Anyone care to offer an opinion on what the "Mission ONE Project Announcement" really means. Also note back-to-back 4-hour maintenance windows, one on 09/18 and one on 09/25. Wonder what new changes are coming. Don't remember 4-hour maintenance being performed back-to-back.

My opinion on what it really means - Look out

The only point that I think will affect us:
â�¢Base-lining current productivity levels and identifying gaps to best-in-class benchmarks with the goal of developing a set of initiatives to close the gaps without negatively affecting quality.

which I think means they are getting ready to give us another DIS-initiative to "close the gaps" such as oh...I dunno...electric shocks every time our hands leave the keyboard or having us pay them for every mistake made, triple the amount on weekends. And work fasterfasterfaster while doing it. JMO

Hire a bunch of morons who know nothing about being an MT, who inform us that unless we edit 350 lines per hour for 3 cpl, they will close the gap between INDIA AND THEIR BANK ACCOUNT!

I can think of an easy way for them to achieve that - goal: PAY US MORE!!!!!!!!

their consultants will tell them their organization is way too top heavy and that sending work to India only to go through 2 or 3 levels of QA is NOT cost effective.

All I get out of it is more negativity, reduced pay and more pounding on the keyboard as fast as you can while trying to follow 1000 different client profiles and dear you make a mistake so then you will have to go slower so you will not go on full edit to further reduce your pay. All I get out of it stress, more xanax and keep hoping for a new dream job at least one with a consistent pay I can count on.

The e-mail contained nothing but a bunch of corporate speak intended to obfuscate their true intentions and yet completely laid them bare for anyone who can read past the nonsense. You can be assured that any changes that are made will not benefit you, the MT, but will be designed to further enrich the CEO and executives at your expense. That's how these people operate and is why you must consider anything they say within that context.

The world wants to get in on ripping off america. hey, it worked for wall street, why not India, too? When they have all our money and sweat shops are reestablished maybe they'll finally have enough, but I doubt it.

Regarding talking to people from India, I was talking to Customer Service at my mortgage company and the representative is from India. I have no idea since this is a U.S. company why their customer service dept. is in India, but I was telling him that the value of the housing in my area dropped suddenly and now I am in an underwater mortgage, so I owe more than my house is worth.

He said "That's too bad. But, from talking to me, do you recognize I am from India?" I said yes. He said, "Have you ever thought of investing in property for income?" I said yes. He said "Well, you should invest in property in India, because I bought my apartment 4 years ago, and in that time the value has quadrupled."

Well, that didn't set well with me. They send our jobs to India -- we lose our jobs - then to make us feel better, they suggest we invest in property in India.

I seriously doubt I could have remained remotely polite to someone who is working for a US Company, living in India, taking US jobs, and is probably one of the reasons you needed to make that call to begin with. Personally, if I get a "foreign" voice when I'm calling customer service for ANYTHING, I ask to speak to a rep IN THE US. Legally they have to transfer you to someone in AMERICA! If we all did this, there would be fewer jobs of THAT type going to India. A small victory, but I always feel a bit better..... :-)

Yes, I get these same men who sound like they are from India anytime I call tech support for most companies. Cell phone companies, land line companies, even computer support for my computer. I called technical support for a Lexmark printer I bought, and I had a real hard time understanding him. Sounded like he was from India.

Not that I really WANT to hear from the Q, but am I the only one who does not have e-mail still? I can log into MQ Central fine, click the "my community" button, and the regular e-mail page does come up but with only four boxes at the top (no e-mail list). One of those boxes says something about currently experiencing problems with MT mail, we are contact with the vendor trying to resolve issues. That's it. Rest of the page is white. Doubt he will even read it but if he does, it was nice knowing all of you. I did not use any bad language, but I did speak my mind. I'm not even totally sure the big picture includes MTs/MEs so I guess we should all be looking to change occupations. Either way, sooner or later I will be hired outside of this industry. Okay, it is 8 p.m. Friday night. Just checked e-mails. Noting my CCM sent one out at 4 p.m. Little concerned as to its content. She stated mandatory conference calls in the next 2 weeks with an "agenda," but will be brief. With what I am reading on this board, I am worried what this might be about. I cannot access my web e-mail. I believe there was an upgrade happening this week (thought today). Now they want user name and password. from a supervisor with a typo or a word spelled incorrectly or misuse of a word. I want so much to send a reply stating "Failed audit!" And where does the doctor's responsibility come in? I can't believe how poor some of their grammar is and how they mix up genders throughout the report. It's unbelievable how much we have to correct to make them look good. Just received e-mail from corporate stating that as they had previously stated they would be rearranging management, ccm's, etc. It went on to state that if you had been reassigned to a new CCM they would be contacting you in the future, but Thank GOD at the bottom it lists who your CCM will be and I am lucky enough to have the same CCM who I love and has always been good to me. Today is my lucky day. So glad she is not one of the ones to go. ...
